I tried them on today and they are gorgeously comfortable and I could wear them all day for
work.

I can't walk in high heels and nothing destroys a woman's confidence quite like tottering uncomfortably.

Eglu · 25/05/2010 21:55

oh yuck! Don't do it

wineismysaviour · 25/05/2010 21:58

no no no no no no.

MmeLindt · 25/05/2010 21:59

no no no no no

They are awful. Truly awful. You might as well give in all together and wear crocs.

At least they don't cost £90.

MmeLindt · 25/05/2010 21:59

What about these?

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 25/05/2010 22:02

They look a bit Day Release to me. sorry

And before I get flamed for that I do know what I'm talking about

pointydog · 25/05/2010 22:13

I was going to post a comment but skimmed through the other posts first and now I:

a) feel a bit sorry for sweeedes
b) realise my comment was going to be mild in comparison

PlumSykes · 25/05/2010 22:17

Sweeedes, they are just awful, love. You'd be better off in flats, I think. Especially for £90! Can't you just do ballet pumps or summat?

ticktockclock · 25/05/2010 22:19

A stylish wedge always works if you don't walk well in heels. I live in Wedges.

like these

or these

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/05/2010 22:21

No no - they are horrid!

Also, for £90 you don't want an entirely synthetic shoe - you feet will sweat and smell gross!

SixtyFootDoll · 25/05/2010 22:21

OP step away from those shoes
they are fat barmaid, smoking a fag in the bus stop!
Yuck.

MakemineaGandT · 25/05/2010 22:23

not barmaidy at all. But utterly hideous nonetheless. A shoe which is pretending to be stylish but which is absolutely not. And ludicrously expensive. Do not do not do not buy!

Sweeedes · 25/05/2010 22:47

It's a Mumsnet first. You are all in agreement about these shoes. Oh the shame!

I need something fairly formal.

OP posts:
ruckyrunt · 25/05/2010 22:48

No barmaid would be seen dead in them there shoes - far to pouncey for pulling pints

moondog · 25/05/2010 22:56

OMFG
They are mniging.
No, not fat barmaid (that is reserved for silver cork wedges)
They are more of a 'I've just had surgery on my hammer toes and this is my remedial footware' look.

Don't you dare!

Right. I am NOT going to buy those shoes. I want my sartorial subtext to be something more interesting than healthcare worker with a family history of fallen arches.

How about these shoes are they a bit shimmery for the office?

OP posts:
Lauriefairycake · 26/05/2010 10:07

I'm not keen on those mary jane ones - aren't they a bit overpriced.

And I was shocked at 90 quid for non-leather. Have a look at Fly London sandals for comfy ones (and all leather and all padded inside).

Lauriefairycake · 26/05/2010 10:09

I have these, they are comfortable

Sweeedes · 26/05/2010 10:17

Laurie I have some Fly crossover wedge shoes but Fly shoes are v v casual and slightly hippy chick.

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 26/05/2010 10:18

sorry, I think they look REALLY cheap considering they cost £90

GetOrfMoiLand · 26/05/2010 10:20

Lol at fat barmaid.

IMO they are more like chambermaid with a nylon tabard.

They are not shoes, they are hooves.

muddleduck · 26/05/2010 10:24

like those fly wedges a lot LFC.

Tidey · 26/05/2010 10:26

Nothing to do with the non-leatheriness, but I couldn't bring myself to pay £90 for shoes full stop. Anything over £30 and my mind would rebel and not let me complete the transaction.

animula · 26/05/2010 10:28

I really like the Mary Jane's. And they'll look great with black. Especially if the rest of you is dressed v. down/in suit/office attire.
