Ideas for an outfit for a wedding when I'm a size 18, 5ft 4in and will possibly be 15 weeks pregnant

I also have very large boobs, which I'm very self concious about.

I tried on a dress the other day and it was OK but it was low cut under the arms and you could see my bra and I thought it made the dress look tacky.

The wedding is in two months so I have time to shop but I'm starting to fret already.

Can anyone suggest anything please?

You're all thinking I should just stay at home aren't you?

Oh bless you.
Ok. Have you got a link/ idea of the sort of thing you are looking for?

What's your budget?

Any colours to avoid?

SparkyMalarky · 13/05/2010 15:57

what about this?

It's empire line, jersey and quite glam - and you could pop a camisole under it and a little shrug over it if you wanted more upper arm cover/minimise possibility of tits falling out.

Will have a think and see what else I can find....

KnottyLocks · 13/05/2010 15:58

Have you got legs that you are happy to show off?

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:00

Ooh thank you!

I was just thinking a dress really, would prefer one that I didn't have to wear a cardigan over just in case it is warm hence wanting to be certain of covering bra straps.

Budget up to £100 ish maybe a little more I don't mind really just will probably not wear it a lot.

I don't like greens really, or yellows, or oranges. I'm pale with ligt brown/highlighted hair.

oh yes...answers to knott's questions would be great

KnottyLocks · 13/05/2010 16:01

This is classic and you could wear it throughout your pregancy.

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:02

Yes I'm OK with my legs if I put some tan on them, I don't like long dresses as they don't suit me with being short and round.

The boden dress is nice thank you. The wrap dress is nice but I think it would be too clingy for me and make me feel really self concious.

I had a black one of these. Easy to dress up or down.

KnottyLocks · 13/05/2010 16:06

Less clingy

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:08

Oh yes that is very nice.

Is the baby your first? If so, prob wont be showing at that stage. If second, something empire line is definitely the way to go - boden dress with pashmina or shrug/wrap thing would be good combo.

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:10

First baby not 1st pregnancy, I feel and look a little bloated already (7 weeks) yet haven't actually put any weight on yet.

I have never worn empire line, maybe I need to try a few on tomorrow lunchtime if I can see any in monsoon etc.

Quite weddingy

Agree on the first baby bump - I just had a pudding rather than a bump at that stage.

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 16:13

Ok - Monsoon is a good place to check out empire line dresses in as they generally have a few in stock. I swore by empire line dresses for weddings when pregnant with both my boys - shows off your assets but hides your burgeoning belly and they're pretty enough, and classic enough, to be able to wear again post pregnancy.

KnottyLocks · 13/05/2010 16:17

This is lovely

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 16:18

Ooh - that is really lovely KnottyLocks. Clare - you could team that up with an open black cardy and look really lovely in it.

KnottyLocks · 13/05/2010 16:24

Spotty

Patterned

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:25

That is lovely! But they don;t have it on my size, largest is a 14

The flowery one would hang nicely as it's lined so wouldn't cling.

KnottyLocks · 13/05/2010 16:27

Will check size before linking. Sorry.

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:29

I like both the monsoon dresses, and I think both are something I would wear again this summer. I will see if the Monsoon near my office has them in to try on. Thank you!

Navy is a colour that suits me so if the spotty one is available and suits that would be great.

Ooh the patterned Monsoon one could look really lovley on you Claire if you're not keen on baring arms. Not so keen on the spotty one - though might look nicer on. Thing with monsoon clothes is that they definitely look better on people than on the hanger.

ClaireDeLoon · 13/05/2010 16:33

I really like the spotty one
