ANY HAIRDRESSERS ABOUT? - Or colouring experts?

I really need help... this is what happened last night...

I have dark brown hair...

Put hight lighting bleach on... only does my roots...

DH goes out and gets another 2, he covers the areas that are still brown and it all goes blondeish.

Light enough for me to put the colour over.

But it didn't take.

The colour on the box was a very bright red, on the back it said blonde ---> bright red.

But it didn't take, it sort of sat on the surface and went on a tiny bit

so now I have blondey-gingery-hair, like when a student dyes it pink then leaves it to wash ou.

My question is. I've left it over night now.

If I put another red on will it take today?

Is there anything I can do to make it take better?

Hair is becomming resistant after too much processing.

I stand by my first suggestion of a cut and low lites on your other thread.

Goober · 13/05/2010 08:37

All this money you are wasting on home kits could have got a proffessional job by now.

Do you not know a mobile hairdresser or a salon that needs models for their juniour stylists to work on? Those are the cheaper options.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 08:38

But after being left overnight will it take a dye now?

Now off to work.

Will check in at lunch time.

Think about getting a pro to do it. Would probably work out cheaper in the end.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 08:40

I'm not gonna get it cut, unless I shave it off then its not gonna help as it still needs to be dyed.

Goober, I've spent £20 sso far,

there a difference between trying another £6 dye and £45 for a colour at a salon. and then a cut too for what £20'
I just haven't got it.

Being left over night will make no difference. But if hair is too resistant from over processing it may NOT take another without going wishywashy again.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 08:41

I'm sorry, I wish I could just say 'yes, that is the best idea' because it is, but I can't magic up money I haven't got.

It doesn't have to cost that much.

Ask your local salons/college if they need models, find a mobile hairdresser.

Sorry, gotta go.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 08:44

Thanks, local collecge won't touch me without a 48 hour skin test for dye.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 08:44

I know that because my sister just left that college.

As a last resort use L'Oreal shade CHESTNUT BROWN as there is red tones but also a deep brown and a good shade, but not a garantee.

Be back later.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 08:49

Thanks

urgh why are no hairdressers open yet?!

OP posts:
glasgowmandy · 13/05/2010 09:02

are you wanting your hair totally red? it will be fine to do today, just dont put ona light colour red or brown you'll need somthing a little darker to cover it, somthing around the number of 4 - 5.. (numbers on the boxes) it will cover just make sure you leave it on a good 45 minutes, if you take it off early it will be wishy washy, get something with tone an warmth to it, to cover the colour, do not buy just plain brown, because putting this on will react with the blonde now and make it go a horride washy greeny colour, chesnuts or mahogony brown will do the trick, if your going red, make sure its a deep red, all it will end up washing up pink after a few washes, hope this helps x

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 09:15

its klike this one

glasgowmandy · 13/05/2010 09:25

i would defo go for a dark mahogany or chesnut, that will be nice i wouldnt get anything light, been a hairdresser for 12 years and seen that a lot!! best advice i can give you is to get a colour i mentioned, got to be somthing with tone in it, i.e chesnut mahogany, or just a warm brown, if you want the red tone the chesnut or mah will give you that but make sure you leave it on long as possible! good luck! i would say loreal was prob the best or garnier? x

Goober · 13/05/2010 12:32

I am home.

Disenchanted3 · 13/05/2010 15:55
