So do I just give up on "nude on nude" then?

New Look (yes, NL) have lots and lots of sooooo pretty nude-tone tops and I do believe I've tried them all and every one makes me look ghastly. I need strong colours I think.

I have dark hair and blue eyes and I'm 45. I think I need to be young and blonde and willowy. All graceful and jumpy-uppy like a ballerina.

But I'm just not (sigh)

Cider I guess I've got it wrong then. Having a tan makes me look Italian etc whereas without I am clearly of Celtic extraction. Maybe the difference is my confidence?

SuSylvester · 08/05/2010 17:45

yes deffo
tan no difference
same colours stil sut
nude would still make me look ill and old and in need ot make up

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 08/05/2010 18:21

BelleDame - it's confusing isn't it - surely according to the colour theorists, if you're a winter or summer, your own TAN shouldn't suit you, what with it being goldeney/brown (or orangey/brown in my case) - ie colours we're not supposed to be able to wear.

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/05/2010 18:37

I think I'd like to be a colour theorist! Sounds much more interesting than my actual job...

I thought I was a winter but, having followed the link above, it would appear I am an Autumn.

I do change my hair colour quite a bit though!

ner ner ner ner ner

Nevergoogle · 08/05/2010 22:05

this one
i wear it with a purple cardi.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 09/05/2010 09:24

That's lovely Nevergoogle . But do you think it's the purple cardi that makes it asseptable?

jamaisjedors · 09/05/2010 10:42

That CMB test is rubbish. When I click on what vaguely comes close to my natural hair colour, it comes up with a blond.

The other one expects you to know if you look better in navy or beige - if I knew that I wouldn't need to know my "season".

Only way is to go and get "done" imo, and go with someone else so you can see it on them and then you believe

jamaisjedors · 09/05/2010 10:43

btw OP, if you have quite deep blue eyes you are probably a "winter" as Su says, I have deep blue eyes and pale skin (but not particularly dark hair so don't look like a typical "winter") and suit deep colours, with a slight bias to cool. (had analysis done in Feb)

Nevergoogle · 09/05/2010 13:29

er yes, the purple cardi makes it asseptable, also the crochet bit at the top means the pink isn't right on the neckline so no nude on nude i spose.
