Hmmm sorry but even my mother (who loves a bargain) balks at Primark linen trews. Prone to excessive wrinkling iirc...

southeastastra · 22/04/2010 21:50

they were made by 2 year old midget monkeys you know

overmydeadbody · 22/04/2010 21:58

yes but at least the midget monkeys where working and kept off the street

sherby · 22/04/2010 22:58

lol at midget monkeys

please don't ruin my new trews love, they fit soooo well

MooMinCow · 23/04/2010 10:04

I have some - they are being shortened by my little dressmaker lady... I'm with you sherby!

(and the midget monkeys don't make clothes for JUST Primark you know.....)

sweetheart · 23/04/2010 10:12

do they fasten at the front? With a button / zip / both?

IngridFletcher · 23/04/2010 10:15

yeah but cheap linen wrinkles too much and when you wash them they go like rags and it takes ages to iron them and lots of water squirting.

deaddei · 23/04/2010 10:18

And they won't fit my long pins.
I bought mine in Next and they're fine.

ABitBatty · 23/04/2010 10:20

I've got some and had to shorten them, I lopped off the ends and wonder webbbed them up. Now they've been washed and looked like rags, I can't be bothered trying to iron them now

sherby · 23/04/2010 11:11

Fasten with a button and tie thing and a zip

They have a good length if you are leggy, most linen trousers are an inch or so to short for me but these are perfect

mangoandlime · 23/04/2010 12:50

I'm a linen lover..but the Primark ones look so thin and cheap. (sorry Sherby...) I have come to the conclusion over the yrs that a linen mix is the best...I love all three of my Next linen mix wide legs bought for this year, they wash well too.

cyb · 23/04/2010 13:07

It is my new pledge NEVER to buy linen trousers agin. I fact I have a Kew pair and a Dorothy Perkins pair up for grabs if anyone wants 'em

mangoandlime · 23/04/2010 13:14

Sometimes I do take mine off between going out to avoid the 'baggy knee' look that is oh no unattractive. Starch, that's what you need, and lots of it.

earlyriser · 23/04/2010 13:18

I bough 2 pairs of linen trousers last year, one in Next for nearly £20 and one from Asda at £8, the Asda ones are FAR superior, they have kept their shape, don't wrinkle nearly as much and haven't faded, they still have a bit of 'starch' about them a year later while the next ones look sloppy after been on for an hour.

KnottyLocks · 23/04/2010 13:43

I love a linen trouser.

I find the 'sloppy', 'baggy knee', 'rag' effect coordinates nicely with my hair.

Pronoia · 23/04/2010 13:47

Primark jeggings

£6

made of thin stretchy denim, not wird neoprene-like substance

Wash well

Don't need ironing

HIGH WAIST!!!

Awesome.

I think they're all gone though

maltesers · 23/04/2010 13:47

Primark is great .... i buy lots of clothes from there.....i go to Southampton especially. No rude comments please like poor old Sherby got....we cant all be rich enough to shop in pricey clothing shops !!!

boogywoogy · 23/04/2010 13:53

I love linen trousers and have had the Primark ones - length is perfect for me but they did wear very thin on the inside legs very quickly.

I have some from Next which are OK but wrinkly.

Cyb - what size are your linen trousers?

RunforFun · 23/04/2010 14:01

I went in there the other day on somebodys recommendation and thought nah.

I did try some on in Asda and actually they were quite nice (£18) I might go back for them.

Cyb if you are a 10 I might be interested in buying them from you. Thanks

sherby · 23/04/2010 14:43

they are £8 you don't get to moan about them not washing well

OP posts:
mangoandlime · 23/04/2010 15:22

Point taken sherby. If you buy them in the cheap as chips spirit they're meant to be bought in then I guess they are good for what they are at that price.
