Runforfun, oh my dear I wish I were a 10! these are a loose 14. I ahve lost some weight and they are hanging off me in a most unflattering fashion

cyb · 23/04/2010 16:22

one pair is sort of dark french blue from Kew and t'other is dark grey sort of combatty style from Dotty P, they can be rolled up to 3/4 if thats your thang.

Both a bit wide legged but not massively so.

I would be ahppy to send them to anyone. I am 5ft 9ish and they are a good length on me

I love the Primark linen trousers, far better than the Gap or Next ones I own. Do check them carefully before you buy ie the inside leg seaming can be a bit hit and miss, so check if there are any areas there coming apart, as I found on a pair I bought last year.

gramercy · 23/04/2010 19:12

I have just bought a pair. Bit long though.

The Southampton store is only bearable though if you manage to get there at 9.01 am. Otherwise it's... hell.

Totally off linen trousers topic, but I was chatting to one of the assistants on the Returns desk recently and he told me that people bring in their own green felt tips to do their own mark downs! He said he caught out one woman because he'd only put out the stuff that morning and knew it wasn't on sale. Extraordinary.

I've had my linen trews from Primark for a year now and they haven't worn out in the crotch. That usually happens when the size worn is too small/tight around the upper thigh! Got two pairs last summer and getting ready to wear them for my hols next week!

foundwanting · 16/03/2011 12:44

I've had linin trousers from Primark, Next and Jaegar.

Worst for creasing and bagging were the £££ Jaegar ones.

Not much to choose between Next and Primark except the price.

foundwanting · 16/03/2011 12:46

linin - far more exclusive than the common-or-garden linen, doncha know. Blush

custardismyhamster · 16/03/2011 12:48

I bought a black pair and a white pair from primark last summer. Still wearing them now, they've done really well.

So I agree, stock up!

BruceParry · 16/03/2011 12:55

I got them a few years ago and they wore out between the legs after a few wears!

BruceParry · 16/03/2011 12:56

Might be because of my chunky thighs though.... Blush

brimfull · 16/03/2011 12:59

My Hobbs ones are the best , have had for 3 yrs now and they're like new , proper thick linen and flatteringly not baggy.

MillsAndDoom · 16/03/2011 13:49

Its March - are people really getting their linen trousers out already - I thought the rules were that they could only be worn between May and August

soppypreggyloon · 16/03/2011 14:37

cyb what is the stylish alternative to linen trews? I always look like I'm wearing pjs when I try them! Blush

TheSleepFairy · 16/03/2011 14:41

There are rules about wearing linen trousers??

I'm clueless

Meggles76 · 16/03/2011 21:18

I have 2 pairs of Next ones from last year that are still in good enough condition to wear again this year day to day. Have bought a further pair this year. The petite length ones are perfect for me so no need to mess about altering the length
