Ordered and awaiting arrival.

I'm such a 90s throwback but I loved mine and wore them til they died.

Oh wow, soo comfy!
I even convinced my mum to let me have some as school shoes, was so happy!

fartmeistergeneral · 20/04/2010 16:11

High heel version??!! Can't imagine, sounds interesting.

JackBauer, they were my university shoe!

blametheparents · 20/04/2010 16:14

OMG - I had a pair of those.
They weren't £35 though!

APassionateWoman · 20/04/2010 16:17

I wore them in the very early 90s with hideous dungaree short thingies or little smock dresses

All the rage in norf London

Shaz10 · 20/04/2010 16:19

I bought them from Top Shop last year, so of course they're not on line anymore. They are a cross between these and these. Laceups. V comfortable considering their height and the fact I don't do heels!

fartmeistergeneral · 20/04/2010 16:25

Shaz, you are significantly cooler than me!!!

OP posts:
hogshead · 20/04/2010 16:27

i remember them!

but never had a pair - back in the 90's you couldnt get me out of my Doc Martins and Adidas Gazelles (to go with my indian tassle skirt, tie dye t-shirt or long sleeved Nirvana jumper)

those where the days

hogshead · 20/04/2010 16:28

were

Shaz10 · 20/04/2010 16:29

I don't actually remember them the first time round - although I am the right age! I lived in Gazelles too, the turquoise ones.

bishboschone · 20/04/2010 16:36

ooh, I had some too...does that make me old?

Monadami · 20/04/2010 17:53

I remember I had a pair in 1990. I wore them to my very first Fashion business trip away in Paris, think I had a Lycra catsuit on and short suede biker jacket

displayuntilbestbefore · 20/04/2010 17:54

I wore them when they were "in" last time - never again! Sorry, but yeuchh!

Fimbo · 20/04/2010 17:59

Ooh I had them in the cream (not high tops though). I loved them and wore them with a floaty short skirt. They were the converse of the time.

Now Cleggy I cannot believe you of all people have never seen them before.

CantSupinate · 20/04/2010 18:34

You're excited by plimsols.
Okay, well, that's nice dear .

noddyholder · 20/04/2010 18:48

I used to love those They will be huge this summer as a lot of other things from their last hey day are back.look great with rolled up jeans and dungarees

pointydog · 20/04/2010 18:59

I remember them. Never keen

sungirltan · 20/04/2010 19:01

they are ok. i had sort of lace ones back in the day i was quite fond of. they are nicer than the fashion for wearing actual plimsolls lately which i hate!

fartmeistergeneral · 20/04/2010 20:04

Yes, agree. Those very skinny 'weener' (as my ds1 would say) plimsolls are horrible, well, they would look horrible on me anyway.

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 20/04/2010 20:07

I wore them too

Agree they made your feet reek

My Mum used to go mental too because they left horrible black marks all over the lino

fartmeistergeneral · 20/04/2010 20:10

They didn't make my feet stink and I was forever wearing them without socks.

The beige are nice, but Schuh don't do them.

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/04/2010 20:13

OMG yes - and yes to the long floral dress and t-shirt underneath.

I remember that they used to make my feet smell, so I shan't be buying any

hogshead · 20/04/2010 20:33

since i posted on this thread i've sent DH been up in the loft and yes ive still my doc martins circa 1993

hogshead · 20/04/2010 20:34

now to work out why my striking out thing didnt work

pippinlippin · 20/04/2010 20:53

I wore my Palladiums to death. Well until every other student in the world had a pair - or even worse fake copies!
I loved them and wore them with baggy jeans and hooded t-shirts.

They are so much nicer than plimsols, but I do like a chunky trainer or boot.

Very tempted to buy a pair, but also feel at 40 that I might be pushing it.
