I have one pair of pink glads which I like and some black havainas for slumming about but wanted someother sandally type thingies as well that need to be comfy as permanently with pram/sling.

Can anyone help?

Just can't do birkies again this summer as despite having 3 pairs they're like a uniform round here and EVERYONE at work wears them (CAMHS) so just too health and social care professional for me!

rockstar!

Shaz10 · 18/04/2010 09:27

I don't want to see anyone's toenails or cracked heels! For the love of god, put your feet away!!

satc2bringiton · 18/04/2010 09:36

These and these are nice from Next.

I hate all the sandals on this thread apart from the green boden ones..

hobbittoes · 18/04/2010 09:48

I bought these old lady lovely comfy shoes yesterday - like walking on clouds!

BariatricObama · 18/04/2010 09:52

i just don't like anything gladiator. i really wish they would go away

thehillsarealive · 18/04/2010 09:57

hobbittoes - i like those, but fear i would look like a hobbit in them.

The ONLY other ones i like are the leather button ones from Boden - green or purple would be lovely, might just order a pair.

I have far too many pairs of shoes, but in summer i have a few pairs that I wear, a pair of leather sandals, various colours of Havianas, and Birkies and they are my saviour each summer. Sad but true.

PlumSykes · 18/04/2010 09:57

These Scholls look nice, actually, and much daintier than Birks. Still quite geek/health care professional-chic, though.

HellBent · 18/04/2010 10:00

What will you be wearing with sandals? I live in linen trousers and flip flops/wedges in the summer, don't have the legs for leggings unfortunately, what should I be wearing instead of birkies?

Nuttybear · 18/04/2010 10:13

Love this thread but what about those rainy days. I hate grit between my toes. & every one needs support in the arches and a little heel ballet pumps are no good for me
I'll have to start my own thread.

MarthaFarquhar · 18/04/2010 10:18

I am lolling at CAMHS uniform - am in forensics m'self

I am aware there is an anti-gladiator sentiment on this thread, but regardless would like to nominate these for actually being comfy - they have a soft, slightly graduated heel instead of the regulation sliver of cardboard that most glads have.

KristinaM · 18/04/2010 10:30

so can i just clarify? my options for spring / summer footwear, for the 26 weeks i will NOT be on the beach, are :

ballet pumps (if i want to look like an 8 year old)

glads ( no support and a bit muttony on a 40 something)

schools/birkies/footgloves ( for that social worker look)

is that it, really??? so the holy grail of style and beauty is not in fact, the school run winter coat? its a summer shoe/sandal for those of us who are not students or social workers

Nuttybear · 18/04/2010 10:33

KristinaM Yep! designers don't care about us even though we have the money to spend!

minxofmancunia · 18/04/2010 12:21

Thanks everyone for all the links! The ones I like best so far are the (whisper) Boden ones. I have never bought anything from boden before .

I will be investigating the website. Not keen on studded ones either I'm afraid but quite like low wedges and clogs. I know clogs are fashionable this season but am ecpetical about their comfiness for all the trkking I do.

Have just come back from church, as an aside there was a woman wearing a "jesus is my homeboy" T-shirt there. . Words fail me...

I quite liked the Scholl Bahamas in a retro chic kind of way.

Loved the LK Bennet ones, but gosh, they are expensive.

Boden ok.

Hate gladiator sandals.

Nothing really really floated my boat.

I bought these from gant and another pair similar. Not worn them yet so no idea how comfy they are when wearing all day.

fluffles · 18/04/2010 12:40

good campers: shop.camper.com/producto.xhtml?option=21205-002&lng=en#

MmeLindt · 18/04/2010 12:44

Fluffles
I am afraid they are what my DH terms "Sister Magdalena shoes".

fluffles · 18/04/2010 12:53

ok.. what about these campers - more "on trend"??

Mine are white and from last year but same style. Very comfy, very stylish, get lots of compliments. Also have those next plain flip flops in black and have some gold glads.

MamaG · 18/04/2010 12:58

I like those maize

Daisydaydream · 18/04/2010 12:58

Ooh I love the flower Schuh ones, and a bargain too. Might have to get those! Thanks Shaz10.

I hate sandals, I never find any styles I like, and they all invariably cut my feet to shreds. It's dolly shoes all the way for me, esp as I now have to wear arch supports, and very few shoes stay on my feet now with them.

MmeLindt · 18/04/2010 13:01

Dittany
Entertainment for everyone you meet, certainly.

KnottyLocks · 18/04/2010 13:15

Look comfy

KnottyLocks · 18/04/2010 13:17

Pretty

minxofmancunia · 18/04/2010 13:43

I am in love with the fly london wedges knottylocks they are fab!

Will check out amazon for other fly stlyes as well I think.

Camper again....really sorry to say it but very CAMHS.

The area of M/CR I live in is lovely but has a very certain "look" as sported by the Mums that I'm trying to avoid. there is another "boho" area down the road which again has it's merits but has become so organic and fair trade it's become domething of a cliche and the camper style is so of that place!!! I really don't want to look like an identikit urban organic Mum!

Sorry I'm a fussy begger aren't I!
