What's a good nail colour this summer?

Going to invest in this summers first mani-pedi this weekend.

I usually go for a darker colour on my toenails and a lighter one on fingernails.
I get the impression tho that darker colours are in for fingernails.

Anyone know what the colours du jour are?

Not sure about colours du jour but I am currently liking Louvre Me Louvre Me Not from OPI (a lovely aubergine colour) and 17's Baked Cherry (retro red) and Rimmel's Pop Apricot (peachy pink).

I've just bought a lovely deep purple (a navy type of purple not a mauve type) by miss sporty

it's apparently all about 'greige' Nails Inc do a lovely one but as I am useless I can't remember what it is called.

I'm still wearing Chanel particuliere on my toe nails which is the greigey colour.

However its all pastels greens, blues, aquas for spring according to the magazines.

Personally I like bright pink/coral/red on toes for summer.

I've also seen a gorgeous D&G one called 'drama' the third colour in - kind of bridges the gap btwn the nudes and the purples apparently!!

i like blue, purple, silver or grey for toes. don't do colour on fingers.

Oh yeah, there is a lovely pastel green shade called Mint in Marks and Spencer at the mo.

i htink you need to consider not what is in fashion but what colour suits your skin tone tbh.
for eg plums always look nice on me - shocking pink is ok on toes but on hands makes me look yellow.

I love OPI too, like to have a mooch at their concession in selfridges
