BUT

I want one with sleeves (long or short); preferably not too flowery and in a size 18.

Can anyone help?

Anyone?

You've prob. already found all these:

Not floral - "dragon" it says...!

Sort of sleeves, paisley?

Monsoon, unsurprisingly

sherby · 03/04/2010 20:44

ASOS has loads, not sure if they have sleeves though

nice casual ones too

BessieBoots · 03/04/2010 20:45

They're a bit Abigail's party with sleeves, aren't they? I like!

sherby · 03/04/2010 20:45

price?

sherby · 03/04/2010 20:46

v casual

sherby · 03/04/2010 20:47

sorry not size 18 will look again

tethersend · 03/04/2010 21:33

Oooh, thank you

I don't like the pattern on the first two, hulahooper- the monsoon one is ok though, thanks.

sherby, I was hoping to get one for under £50, but will pay more if it's lovely... I could probably get away with a 16 if it's stretchy like the one you linked to, but forgot to say that I don't want black, sorry.

I think I may be looking for the moon on a stick, TBH...

Is it for a wedding? Why would you wear maxi day-to-day?

tethersend · 03/04/2010 23:44

not for a wedding, Cristina... I just want one for day-to-day wear

OP posts:
CristinaTheAstonishing · 03/04/2010 23:48

Would it be practical? In fact I've had a "jalabiya" in the past and it was very easy to use (indoors only, though).

squareheadcut · 03/04/2010 23:51

don't do it

tethersend · 03/04/2010 23:55

It's ok, I can allay your slightly odd fears for my safety- I do have a maxi dress which I wear and it's fine, I don't trip over or anything.

I am wrapped in a 70s bubble though

OP posts:
CristinaTheAstonishing · 04/04/2010 11:10

I wasn't concerned about your safety, just the practicalities of having lots of fabric floating about you and snagging on things, getting in the way etc.

tethersend · 04/04/2010 11:12

Great, thanks.

Any idea where I could get one?

OP posts:
CristinaTheAstonishing · 04/04/2010 11:13

I saw a couple on Wraponline but they looked a bit too summery.

tethersend · 04/04/2010 11:23

That's the problem; they all seem to be sleeveless.

Thanks for looking though.

OP posts:
notyummy · 04/04/2010 11:40

animal prints are in - but no sleeves...

tethersend · 04/04/2010 11:44

Has to have sleeves I'm afraid... thanks though.

OP posts:
notyummy · 04/04/2010 11:45

sleeves! and in your size...

tethersend · 04/04/2010 11:48

Thanks notyummy, hulahooper linked to that one earlier, but I'm really not keen on the pattern, sorry.

I'm beginning to annoy myself now TBH.

Mumsnut · 04/04/2010 11:50

The 'with sleeves' ones look a bit Margo (The Good Life).

What about sleeveless with one of those cropped tie front cardis over?

notyummy · 04/04/2010 11:52

here

here

here

good price

hulahooper · 04/04/2010 11:57

Are you tall, or can you hem? (As I can't sew I have no idea if it is actually possible to shorten a dress like this?!

tethersend · 04/04/2010 12:04

Mumsnut= 1. Margot from the good life is my style icon 2. I would rather die than wear a cardi. Sorry.

notyummy, the first one is actually ok- the pattern on the other two a bit loud, and the last one could be doable I think- thankyou

hulahooper, I am 5'7", so that may do, but not sure pink would suit me- thanks though.

I can't believe you haven't all got fed up with me- I am really pissing myself off with my fussiness...

Cheers!
