how much of a faux pas is it to wear white to a wedding?

I'll be 30 weeks pregnant and the only dress I can find that I like is a white dress, I would accessorise with colour (shoes, bag, hair piece etc). Never occured to me pre- MN that this is A Bad Thing but a few threads had me thinking {grin}

OP - that's a wedding dress for a pregnant bride. sorry, that's a big no. People will comment. Even if the bride doesn't care before hand, everyone commenting will annoy her.

Right the IO white one is a no-go so how about

purple and cheap

black but elegant

One of the reasons (maybe the only reason!) I got an ivory dress for my own wedding rather than green or red or something is because then everyone can spot the bride - if you look at wedding photos, you'll see what I mean. I wanted to be the star for the day, and why not! Yes, I'd have been annoyed if a guest had turned up in a white or cream dress.

I love the purple one!

Agree that the white dress is very bridal too, sorry.
