...I luuuuurve them.

They are the "khakis" range currently at front of store in Gap.

25 quid....and just felt lovely and soft and fitted like a glove.

I can see my jeans going back in the wardrobe...

No picture? Tsk, I'll have to go and look now. Although for those of us who are not willowy (ie short and dumpy) I suspect they will not be a good look!

tulpe · 02/03/2010 22:50

what cut are they AF? I luuurve Gap khakis too but I want to replace my wide leg ones with some straight fit ones.

AnyFucker · 02/03/2010 22:55

there were a couple of different styles...one was more like a combat trouser with the pockets 'n' stuff...but they were too short for me

the ones I got were straight in the leg, pockets just on the bum and kinda cut off so you roll them up a bit IYKWIM

the colour I got was washed-out khaki, but they had a washed-out black and dull mustardy too

really, really soft...like a 2nd skin

usual price 32.50 (25 quid until 8th March)

made me feel quite spring-like...will look cool with stripy t-shirt, flip flops or Birkies for the summer

Are they these ones?

I have been constantly to-ing and fro-ing from ASOS trying to decide whether to buy them or not!

AnyFucker · 02/03/2010 23:02

the Gap UK site doesn't have pics

on the US site, the nearest I could find was this but it doesn't look like quite the same material

in the pic it looks crisper and harder, whereas the ones I got are very soft, a bit crinkled and distressed IYSWIM

Flip flops ..... Birkies ..... Never thought i'd be sick of boots.
I bought some khaki trousers from asda the other week it was the start of the end of winter!

AnyFucker · 02/03/2010 23:06

tulpe....yes, well done girl...those are the beauties

does ASOS have all the colours, or just beige, cos I preferred the khaki ones

buy them

I found the sizing perfect (I am a pretty standard size)

OP posts:
tulpe · 02/03/2010 23:10

Fabulous

I am going straight back to ASOS now to order. They just appear to have beige which is fine as I have khaki ankle-length crops already in the wardrobe

AnyFucker · 02/03/2010 23:12

be sure to report back, tulpe

I got pair of tight khakis from gap in the sale for 9.99 and liked them so much I bought two more pairs
they are great as I work with children and they don't flap around in the paint etc

tulpe · 02/03/2010 23:20

Should receive them on Friday!! Will be sure to report back

aquavit · 04/03/2010 07:25

ooh, tried these on yesterday and they fitted so well. But I have reservations about the rear view - I think that those pockets (where you can only see the top bit) aren't v flattering to those of us with (ahem) ample bottoms. What do you think??

I'm beginning to hanker after them so I need to be stopped short if they are a no-go!

cyb · 04/03/2010 07:30

AF do you mind me asking what size you are (I am a lumpen 15 at the moment) but wonder how they would look on those of us slightly broader in the beam

AnyFucker · 04/03/2010 07:30

personally, I think pockets on bums are more flattering

I have a bit of a wobbly bum, so find completely plain bums show the wobble and pockets hide it

I don't have an ample bum though, so I dunno, but if they fit OK I would still say they should be flattering, surely ?

OP posts:
cyb · 04/03/2010 07:31

gah I wish that were true, my arse is HUGE

aquavit · 04/03/2010 07:50

yes sorry I didn't explain properly - I was concerned that because they only show the top flap there wasn't enough pocket, iyswim. My arse looks heinous in trousers with no back pockets.

cyb I thought that they were surprisingly supportive and lump-disguising, given how soft and comfortable they were.

cyb · 04/03/2010 07:57

my problem is, and has always been my arse is proportionally wide compared to my legs, which are sylphlike like . I look like Tweedledum

cyb · 04/03/2010 07:57

disproportionally

aquavit · 04/03/2010 12:48

at tweedledum

tried them on again on the way into work today and they're just not right for my enormous rear my particular body shape. bah.

AnyFucker · 04/03/2010 17:29

can't win 'em all...

angelene · 04/03/2010 17:42

Sorry AF, my MNing has been drastically reduced at work recently

But it's only valid for the 10-14th March so you wouldn't have your lurvely trews until then anyway.
