Best hand cream for really dry skin

I've been asked by my mum to post here to find out all your hand cream recommendations! She has incredibly dry skin on her hand, and a touch of exzema (won't take my advice to go to the docs, although she has tried my ds's doublebase cream and it's not done much good.

What would be the best handcream to get? And are there any other tips (other than cotton gloves) to help? TIA

Cien SOS Hand Concentrate from Lidl. It has completely transformed my very VERY dry hands - it's similar to, but better than, the Neutrogena one. You only need a tiny bit so a tube lasts ages. Best of all it's only 79p a tube! Can't recommend it highly enough Smile

I have terribly dry hands and am always on the search for something good. My favourites, in no particular order:

Burts Bees hand salve or almond hand cream or - the very best but priciest - their green gardeners' hand balm
Boots coconut oil body balm (or cream; it's basically solid coconut oil in a glass pot - costs less than a couple of quid and lasts for ever)
Both Nivea and Astral are pretty good
Often I just use Vaseline. Works well if you put on immediately after washing and drying your hands.
In an emergency I just rub in olive oil, or any oil really.

the unifying theme here is oil. Basically anything that's oil-in-water is a bit of a waste of time.

I love Kiehl's Ultra-Intensive Hand Salve. Deliciously rich but absorbs really quickly - as though you can feel your hands drinking in the moisture.

I can't believe how bad my hands have got from the sterilizer water - I didn't realise such a thing could happen! Doc has prescribed eczema so I have been trying Purepotions and it is REALLY good. It isn't too oily and you don't need a lot on application. It has really helped and the skin between my fingers has healed. My friend is using it on her four month old who has baby eczema and has had similar results. Defo recommend!

PurePotions is really good! Made by a Mum for her daughter who struggled with Eczema. I have been using it on the eczema I got from having my hands in the steriliser water too often! its worked really well and has pretty much cleared up now, also you don't need to apply loads of it and isn't too greasy! My friend has been using it on her baby and has had similar, positive results. Defo recommend it.
