at least the cargo pants are full length heaven preserve us from the british woman on holiday in cropped cargo pants and flip flops

Vallhala · 17/01/2010 21:26

Jaysus! What in god's name is that?!

Back in the '70s I had a Sindy doll which wore a jumpsuit like that.

I may not be the next Kate Moss, sitting here in my old jeans and dog-walking sweatshirt, but I swear I look better like this than I would in that thing!

RonNumber · 17/01/2010 21:26

i look nice in them
MY mum made a " flying suit" form a pattern from Womans hour in the very early 80s

lolol

I like the first Jumpsuit you linked to, I am too old to wear it myself though.
Next is half fashion forward ( but too far forward for me)
And half frumpy and dull ( like the sort of thing my Aunty Pam would wear)
Shame!

PoppityPing · 17/01/2010 21:33

Love the detailed description they give '100% polyester'
just what I look for in an outfit

Is it just me or does the model in that look unbelievably thin? Her legs are like lolly sticks in a soggy wrapper in that jumpsuit.

upahill · 17/01/2010 21:36

The model in the jumpsuit in the Op first link looks like she wants to cry!!

TheBolter · 17/01/2010 21:37

good lord

RonNumber · 17/01/2010 21:38

Agree that all of the above ming for england but....

...I was flicking through it last night and I thought there was quite a lot of stuff that looked like it might be ok

granted, a lot depend on quite how revoltingly synthetic they are in the flesh but

pretty print

cute skirt

another cute skirt

if the fabric is nice, this blouse has nice shape and colour

love these sandals - are copies of last year's ash ones

RonNumber · 17/01/2010 21:40

hmm hate sandals

blue skirt is ok

blouse will be static tastic

pattnered skirt very nice but colours odd odd odd

See I don't get next as fashion forward at all. It's more like Fashion near miss cause anything that isn't their frumpy basics is not edgy enough to be fashionable incase they scare off their core customer. and you and up with the weird stuff in their catalogue that appeals to no one. Anyone who could pull off a jumpsuit would not shop in next if you ask me.

TheBolter · 17/01/2010 21:40

Yes, and faux layered shirts under v neck jumpers.... aaaarrghhh....

TheBolter · 17/01/2010 21:43

All the models look anorexic, esp Rosie H-W and the one that looks like NIcole Ritchie.

Yes tomme maybe fashion forward was being too kind.
What I menat was there is nothing much in there for me ( aka Ms average wants to be funky without being tarty/ mutton etc!)

Feelingoptimistic · 17/01/2010 22:14

Well, I have never bought anything from next, but have looked at their website a few times in the past (mostly looking at other people's links !!) and I have to say that there is something very weird about the way the current collection has been styled. A lot of the models looks quite strange, quite trashy...
I think they must be trying to change their image, and maybe have someone new doing their catalogue, and that person is just not doing a very good job !!!!!

BecauseImWorthIt · 17/01/2010 22:24

Why on earth would you want your boobs to look like that?!

And WTF is the jaunty rose/floral thing doing on the back of that white thong? How uncomfortable is that going to be underneath your clothes?!

Clary · 17/01/2010 22:24

I agree that all these are hideola. Jumpsuits???

But this is OK isn't it?
tunic

I was thinking of getting some jeggings (hmmm) and something like this would be good with, no?
