Does very short hair only look good on thin women?

I'd love to get my hair cut into a short crop, as had it short before and liked it. But i was a bit thinner back then.

Bad idea?

oh blimey, you're lovely! and not even planning on being photographed that day.

I think elfin crop not right but how about a more Pat Benatar short style?

Nevergoogle · 08/01/2010 00:29

pat benatar!

she's gorgeous

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2010 00:31

I like 80s short hair. No?

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2010 00:32

the divine Ms Harry?

Nevergoogle · 08/01/2010 00:36

don't think i could carry off an 80s do.

where i live people are still wearing 80s do's with no thoughts of it being retro.
not sure it would work.

i love this do on eugenie scrase from school of saatchi. she looks fab with it. but she has that elfin thing going on.

OP posts:
Nevergoogle · 08/01/2010 00:37

i'd rather be debbie harry than pat benatar.

I've added a pic to my profile so you can see short hair on fatso, just delivered a baby body

Nevergoogle · 08/01/2010 21:11

shoosh, if you've just had a baby it doesn't count. my youngest is nearly 3.

google, I like that eugenie hairstyle, not at all what I had in mind when I envisaged 'elfin' - definitely think you could do that one!

TrishyT · 09/01/2010 11:40

Hello,
I am not brave enough to go short as I have fine hair and have broad shoulders so I like the way my hair splits it up. But if you do go for it and then you are not so keen you can also add some clip-in hair extensions
This might give you more confidence to go for it. Also, I agree, this winter... you will get a cold neck!

cocolepew · 09/01/2010 12:02

I have my hair similar to this but short at the back and shorter at my ears. It's handy having the length on top.

purepurple · 09/01/2010 12:24

I have just had my long hair chopped off.
I have had loads of compliments.
It doesn't need straightening any more and hardly takes any drying.
It is the same as eugenie scrase's. Whoever she is

Nevergoogle · 09/01/2010 12:28

i know, not sure how eugenie scrase earned a place in my consciousness.

she was an artist on a programme to find an artist to work with saatchi.

i wasn't at all impressed with her powerdrill tied onto a pulley which was supposed to make a curtain tassle float forward and back. it didn't work, so not sure how she made it to the final.

in the end she 'designed' a bit of tree stuck on a fence, which i actually quite liked.

fabulous dahling.

(or maybe i just liked her hair )

I think i've decided to go for some sort of choppy bob with a long fringe.

powerdrills to make a curtain tassle float?

bloody hell, she could've had someone's eye out with that

Nevergoogle · 09/01/2010 12:33

yes, luckily another artist designed something that electrocuted the viewers. think the health and safety crew were a bit distracted with that to worry about her drill that was jubilee clipped onto a cistern or something.

I had long hair for years, but about a year ago had it all chopped off to just below my jaw. Makes me look much thinner in the face (i have a round face). I've got a shorter fringe at the moment, but alternate between this and a longr fringe. Hav layers and the back is shorter than the front but in a soft way not bluntly cut.

Main thing I would suggst is getting a hairdresser you trust to do it. Mine is fantastic and always knows what suits me and when I go in all unsure about what to do she does something fab.

Best thing about having shorter hair? I have an excuse to get it done every 6 weeks and am addicted to the great feeling after just having it done!

Ronaldinhio · 09/01/2010 12:37

I can't see your picture!!

like the idea of short at back with long bits

it grows back anyway

Nevergoogle · 09/01/2010 12:38

i took the picture off.

don't worry, you'll see me and my chins on the video diary for ford soon enough.

OP posts:
purepurple · 09/01/2010 12:40

ron, that's exactly what I said to the hair dresser

and I was right
it is growing back
I need a trim
