Has Toast forgotten to put it's sale on-line?

DarrellRivers · 03/01/2010 11:57

The sale catalogue came on Thursday. Discounted clothes on paper
On-line still says Christmas 09 and all normal prices.
Was thinking about some bistro cutlery but hoping for humungous cost-cutting to no avail

is well worth it if a cowl neck is flattering on you, they aren't always that easy to find.

DarrellRivers · 04/01/2010 12:06

very true fishie [you lovely person you]
'tis an investment buy in that case
always feel very comfortable but attractive in cowl necks so it is worth buying it

here are myboots better pic than the one they've got on their own page. hope can get my flippers in. have high instep.

vesela · 04/01/2010 12:14

I think it's lovely. And useful.

Trying to persuade myself that the Katerina dress wouldn't have looked good in a 14. Not when it's above the knee (I'm a tall 14).

I have some red suede shoes I could have worn with it, too...

fishie · 04/01/2010 12:16

they might get it back in stock vesela, was it in 'only a few left'? someone might return it...

DarrellRivers · 04/01/2010 12:21

v striking vesela

OP posts:
vesela · 04/01/2010 12:28

No, I think there were quite a few earlier, so possible that someone might return it. I'd passed over it earlier because I didn't think I "liked" royal blue - I really don't like it in 80s styles etc - but in that dress it's fantastic.

eshermummy · 04/01/2010 12:41

I like that dress Darrell, I was eyeing it up before Crimbo as a possible Christmas Day outfit.
I think it would also look very nice layered over a poloneck with knee boots for more daytime wearage (if you can carry off that slightly boho thing of swishy velvet in the daytime - I can't , think you need to be tall - but I think you are tall no?)

After spending what felt like years this morning waiting for TOAST website to grind into action I have bought:

this jumper in the ebony marl

and this tunic dress

The jumper is an extravagance but it was -5 when I took the dd's to school and nursery this am. Might not keep the dress now as popped out after the TOASTathon and bought half price tunic dress in local boo-teek.

DarrellRivers · 04/01/2010 12:51

yyy, very daytime as well if dressed with something underneath
well, can't wait now until my arrivals

whoa - they are not knocking much off are they?

TheBolter · 04/01/2010 19:15

Nice choices esher... I've just ordered these:

this in blue

this in black

Took ages for the site to load though, and it crashed on me earlier. Looking fwd to the archive sale though, best bargains to be had then. I'm sure the 'normal' sale used to have a 70% off section...

TheBolter · 04/01/2010 19:16

I meant this one in blue!

LetThemEatCake · 04/01/2010 19:21

Sentimentally, I feel that I ought to buy the pink Cesca sweater dress, since I was obsessing over it in early, niggle-stage labour in September (forget deep breathing, shopping way more fun) but it's out in my size and besides, I have signed up to the 'year of frugality' thread.

Would be nice to have memento of labour though. Suppose I do have the baby though ...

DarrellRivers · 04/01/2010 19:46

Ahh yes, i remember your thread just before you went into labour over that sweater dress

i like the fedosia tunics and teeshirts bolter ( i like your name btw, v mitfordesque]

DarrellRivers · 04/01/2010 19:47

i had a year of frugality last year and then pregnancy
am going to spend and look fabulous this year [hopeful]

TheBolter - love that top with the buttons down the back - I do think Toast make lovely tops - the quality of their jersey is excellent. I have however refrained from ordering any more long sleeved tops as simply cannot justify it........

I am not going anywhere near that frugality thread - I tell a lie, I have skimmed through it but I know there is absolutely no way I could not purchase anything for A WHOLE YEAR!!! The thought makes me feel quite panicky in fact.
Can't remember who it was (Geordieminx?) who said that they buy something everytime they go out - that's me too . I shop for relaxation, reward, pleasure, recreation - you name it, shopping fixes it .

I did feel a bit guilty this morning when I bought two dress/tunic things (both half price in sale) having completely forgotten about the Toast order I had just placed but then I spent this afternoon clearing up vomit from carpet/tiles/walls in 3 rooms after dd2 projectile vomited everywhere and now I don't feel guilty at all

HLaurens · 04/01/2010 19:59

Darrell - my thoughts exactly. Pregnant or post-baby/breastfeeding from Sept 2005 through to winter 2008/9 so I have very little to wear. Does that justify the £630 I spent in the Toast sale, though? Probably not, some will go back!

HLaurens · 04/01/2010 20:00

Maybe..

fishie · 04/01/2010 20:15

i've sent for fedosia in blue . looks a lovely colour and i have mucho purple.

fishie · 04/01/2010 20:28

esher i looked very hard at that leah dress but decided not because the material looks thin and i do not like the sleeve seam being same height as empire, makes one look slabby.

but contrasting colour might mitigate... do report back.

vesela · 05/01/2010 21:04

yay!! someone returned the blue katerina dress!

I'll probably find it's totally unsuitable now. But I need a dress. The sum total of my wedding-etc-suitable wardrobe is a Betsey Johnson crushed velvet dress from 10 years ago that I love but I'm sure everyone else is sick of the sight of. Plus a strapless satin one from Coast, but I'm not good with strapless dresses (although better than bride in other thread).

blue blue blue...

eshermummy · 05/01/2010 21:24

Fishie - got email to say package was dispatched today - can't wait to see whether the jumper is as good in the flesh as I am hoping!
I did think the leah dress looked rather thin too but it may have to go straight back anyway as I accidentally bought this Luella shirtdress and another bright red short sleeved tunic dress (both half price) whilst out yesterday . What with the additional navy blue cashmere poloneck that the latter has necessitated the purchase of I have gone slightly bananas this week so the toast items will have to be absolutely perfect for me to justify keeping them.

tattycoram · 05/01/2010 21:36

Mine's been despatched too. I cracked and ordered the Calvary boots on the other thread, even tho I know from experience it is stupid to order shoes online as they so often don't fit. And they are v v expensive, but so perfect.

I also ordered the this fedosia top, this in pink and this which I think might actually be a bit dull

vesela · 06/01/2010 08:26

The Fedosia tunic dress is lovely. I don't think the picture of it on the model is as good as it could be. Mine is raspberry, which still has all colours in stock - I can't believe no one out there's buying it.

vesela · 06/01/2010 08:35

otoh when buying my dress yesterday I also went for a fianna shrug that I'd been dithering about and I now fear is going to make me look like a giant grey Mr Man.
