I haven't got a huge budget and I'm really struggling to find some jeans.

So if you are petite, where do you get your jeans from?

M&S have a pair of jeans for a tenner, in normal or petite length. They are a really good fit, very flattering.

MmeLindt · 28/12/2009 16:59

No, sorry, they are £12 not £10

DarrellRivers · 28/12/2009 16:59

Dorothy perkins have a short arsed petite section with great length jeans
The only proper length trousers I've ever found

Ineedsomesleep · 28/12/2009 17:20

For some reason, God knows what, I just hadn't thought of going to M&S.

Think I will be able to afford the £12 . Had put that my budget wasn't huge as I didn't want somebody to waste their time posting about some lovely jeans for me to find out they were £200.

Will check out Dotty P's too.

Anymore suggestions?

next and dorothy perkins both do petite and I think debenhams do too although I'm 5,3 so just on the border for petite so they can look a bit odd on me, I tend to go for regular jeans and just have them a bit too long on the bottom.

I wish they did in between sizes like a length in between petite and regular and in a size 13 instead of 12 or 14.

Ineedsomesleep · 28/12/2009 20:09

LMG thanks for that. I've tried Next and they just wear out really quickly. Don't know if its because I'm always on the floor with the kids. The last pair I bought was for our holiday in the summer and by the time we got back they were wearing out

Topshop is good for jeans but not too cheap at 40 pounds, and River Island is too, though the ones they have in at the moment all seem to be an extreme skinny fit

Feelingoptimistic · 29/12/2009 09:26

I just buy regular jeans and have them taken up - IME that's the only way to get exactly the right length.

flimflammum · 29/12/2009 09:35

Gap have jeans in various different cuts and lengths, so you'd have a good chance there. I usually end up there.

hazeyjane · 29/12/2009 09:38

I am 4' 11" and find Next and M&S the best for fit and length.

ImSoNotTelling · 29/12/2009 09:45

Asked this question on here myself!

Was pointed in the direction of new look where they do loads of different leg lengths and am now the proud owner of 2 pairs of jeans which I am happy with!

ImSoNotTelling · 29/12/2009 09:46

There's the body shape to factor in. I'm apple and find the new look ones good. Next clothes and M&S have never fitted me - i think they are cut more for pears...

SheikYerbouti · 29/12/2009 09:46

New Look have some for a tenner which they do in short length

PirateCatintheXmasHat · 29/12/2009 09:53

i am inbetween too, a size 15, and 5ft 3.

I HATE JEANS SHOPPING!

Pot luck usually, I am always standing in shops holding one pair of jeans up to another checking leg length. They vary so much between design.

peacocks do sometimes have a good pair of jeans and they also do different leg lengths. I have a pair from there that were £18. They are darker, with lighter bits on the thigh so they flatter. I know they came in 2 lengths.

agedknees · 29/12/2009 14:06

I am 4ft11 and bought 2 pairs of the £12 jeans from M&S. They are great, comfortable and hard wearing.

If you are on the tall side of petite they may be too short for you.

I am a short arse and buy most of my jeans from Next. I know a lot of people say they are too short but I mostly wear flats and have really short legs so they are fine. They do lots of different styles too esp in the larger stores or in the directory.

I usually find buying jeans a complete nightmare so am going to try New Look and Peacocks as I didn't know they did petite!

Oblomov · 29/12/2009 14:45

Watching. I used to like the M&S Short ones, but they have been discontinued now. as have their bra's I really like. Bugger. Bugger.

SilverSixpence · 30/12/2009 01:22

I tried on the New Look jeans today (straight and skinny), was really impressed by the quality and fit, as good as those double the price or more. Bargain at only 20 quid, will probably buy a couple of pairs. If you like the Topshop Martha ones btw, there's someone on Ebay who has them for only 20 too with free shipping.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will take a look at River Island, Top Shop and New Look too.

Went to Gap before Christmas as DH came home from work with a 30% off voucher. They just couldn't get a pair to fit me. I'm 5'1" so that surprised me.

Need to do some serious shopping by the sounds of it. Will probably wait until DS is back at school next week.

Any more suggestions?

White Stuff do some in short sizes, although they might be more ££ than you weant to pay (mine were £55 iirc).

I recently ordered 4 different styles but only one fitted me well (sent rest back). The others were far too big on the waist (that might be a pear rather than apple thing though). I'm 5'2 and really struggle to find jeans that fit.

veryconfusedandupset · 30/12/2009 09:44

Next - i don't really like the over fussy styles but they fit well and are the right length - also I'm a size smaller in Next jeans than other makes which is good for morale.

vanloadtovenice · 30/12/2009 13:39

If you want to spend a bit more, I'd recommend diesel, they do a 30" leg length, which is fine for me with a 2" heel boot on, I'm 5'2.

I like Gap and top shop too, but they both grow hugely after a days wear, and never seem to last very long.
