I have accepted that I have to return my hunter wellies, so have a bugdget of about £60 I think.

I am in my wellies every day for at least an hour at weekends sometimes all day. They need to be good quality therefore and last.

They need to have good grips and be comfortable.

My self esteem at present too low to measure my offending calves but I will do.

The leg bit of the Muckboot is neoprene and it stretches to accomodate you calf. It's also lovely and warm.
There are lots of different types - read up on the soles first to make sure you buy the ones that are best for the type of walking/work you will be doing

I put on my Muckboots by folding the neoprene down putting my foot in, them rolling the neoprene up over my jeans.
If it's a warm day, you can roll the leg down a bit.
They do not get pulled off, even in deep mud.
They have a padded removable foot bed that makes them super-comfy for walking long distances.

As I said before I use the Derwent Muck boot, as I find it it a really good walking welly.

Have a check of your local saddleries and see if they have them in stock to try on.

MuckMacdog - that is genius!
I've just tried your method for putting them on. I usually tug and tug until they are over my jeans - my jeans are then all bunched up.
Thank you!

I know this is an old thread and nearly April but just wanted to say my Jileon boots were complete rubbish and split everywhere to save anyone from making the same mistake in the future. They are probaby fine if you are going to wear them just a few times a year but for dog walking etc they just can't cope.

Took the plunge and bought some Derwent Muck Boots whilst reduced and everything everyone said is completely true, they really are fantastically comfortable and more flattering than the others.

I still haven't bought my wellies. I am crap.

Have you got a link to your muck boots?

Are they these

tulpe · 09/04/2010 00:47

Haven't read this entire thread, but have you tried the Hunter Neoprene boots, Wastwinset ? I am sturdy of calf and find these fit beautifully - even with looser fit trousers tucked in.

Hi!
I am just about to buy a pair of Hunter wellies on eBay- I'm measuring my calf at the widest point and it measures a comfortable 40cm. I've had problems with boots fitting my calfs before. I'm all confused now! Can anyone here with any experience in buying Hunter wellies help me please? Thanks!
