Something glam yet warm and with sleeves?

We are going to my sisters for a posh Christmas do, and her house is freezing.

I don't want to spend the whole time in my cardi, so have been searching for a warm dress which is still glam/funky. I don't mind it being short, but I would like at least 3/4 sleeves.

I can't wear wool unless it's merino/cashmere (and even then it's a bit dodge).

I need to be able to eat lots in it too!

I'm asking too much......

Aha, yes that colour wouldn't be good for you either then. Possibly style not ideal with our particular nork challenge either.

Hope you find something you like

Poppity · 11/12/2009 16:34

You like a kind of tunic a-line shape then? Or something floaty? Rather than something fitted?

May come back to search more when I get bored of playing shop am less busy!

Poppity · 11/12/2009 16:53

Yes, or empire line maybe, just so I can eat lots really...

I like this All Saints dress, not sure it will work over a polo

this one might though

But I can't really spend over £80 tbh.

And I really love the Karen Millen one that ChrisMiss linked.

Just need cheaper versions!

hi

back from the grim cold outside world and I can second those heat tech tops from uniqlo. I've got a couple and they really work. Really good material for being "on show" underneath things and lots of fab colours to contrast with your outfit. I'm a 16 and bought the large so you should be fine with the small - they do stretch of course but you will be fine.

Yes, I did at price of Karen Millen one but on here you're never really sure of budget .... but I see now that your's is £80.

At 5 ft 10 and a size 10/12 you could wear hessian sack and look amazing

EdgarAleNPie · 11/12/2009 17:40

how about this ebay ofering not a great photo, but i bet a really nic dress...

i find good thick silk can be very warm (especially after a glass or five)

Monsoon have plenty of 3/4 length sleeve offerings that as they are 2 layer may be rather warm too.

ChrisMissWooWoo · 11/12/2009 17:47

maybe this if not too margot for you

this is a little tamer but slightly over your budget

this like the Karen Millen one but half the price although still slightly over budget ...

this would look lovely with red hair

lots of nice things on the monsoon sight infact

EdgarAleNPie · 11/12/2009 17:48

and this preloved beauty

ChrisMissWooWoo · 11/12/2009 17:49

NorkilyChallenged · 11/12/2009 17:50

NorkilyChallenged · 11/12/2009 17:52
