Primer - have never been convinced but god Loreal Resurfacing Primer has made my skin look flawless

I have used primers on and off for a couple of years, never been very convinced as to their usefulness.

Read about the Loreal Professionals one a couple of weeks back in Sunday Times Style and it said it was the best primer available.

It is excellent. You put it on and it makes your skin feel ultra smooth, and covers blemishes to the extent it looks like you have got foundation on. PLUS my foundation now stays on all day, instead of falling off shiny areas, and settling into dry patches on my cheeks. It is probably the best £12 I have ever spent on make up.

(Don't work for Loreal btw)

Oh, good tip. Will have a look when I am in town later.

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/12/2009 08:42

I don't know Mackarel - I nevr got the hang of applying mineral foundation (I tried that Loreal on with a pot with a brush - it was utter crap and made my face look stripy).

ooh benefit - I have never used any of their stuff but SIL is a fan, I was buying some stuff for her the other day and it all looks fantastic. Am going to treat myself to an eyebrow grooming kit and some Hibeam highlighter for a (self) Christmas pressie.

Getorf, the clinique power stuff is fantastic.Really recommend it. i've been going through a minor (actually quite big) refurbishment / update programme and I needed something I could apply in 30 secs and dash out. You just grind a bit out and brush it on and voila! Nothing complicated at all. Covers nicely and sometimes when I look particularly grim and tired and blotchy etc put a bit of tinted moisturiser underneath. The Benefit stuff seems nice - i've only got a couple of eyeshadows, but was v. excited when they opened a counter where i live, which is the back of beyond. It's the most modern thing to hit our town for aeons.

SCargot · 10/12/2009 14:31

RIGHT there is none in our town at all

SCargot · 10/12/2009 14:33

i laughed in boots as i described it to the assitant and i said " god YOU want it now dont you"

adn she laughed and agreed she Had To Have It

MmeLindt · 11/12/2009 15:44

I was in town today and could not remember the name of the primer. Tried looking up this thread but it had slipped too far down (due to the hundreds of Boden sale threads no doubt).

Gah, will have to go in again tomorrow.

traceybath · 11/12/2009 17:17

I bought some yesterday and will try it tomorrow.

I do love a new beauty buy.

SpawnChorus · 11/12/2009 21:21

I have bought it

I am wearing it over existing foundation because i was too excited to wait until tomorrow

I'm impressed

CMOTdibbler · 11/12/2009 21:31

The Benefit That Gal is pants imo - I bought some when on a spending spree working in the US, and am really disappointed. Boots No7 primer is much better.

Will be ordering the L'Oreal though

WilfSell · 11/12/2009 22:26

Oi: Boots have joined the 21st century and sell things online now you know. And I have ordered some of the magic primer already so am safe to tell you about the fact it IS available there currently

nowwhatdoido · 15/12/2009 14:21

I'm wearing this for the first time today. It is fab, you were right. What I love about it is that I have oily skin and my face usually gets very shiney, very quickly. I am still matte, several hours later!

spicemonster · 15/12/2009 14:22

I have scoured 3 boots stores with no success but ordered it to be delivered to my local one on Friday. A day too late for my office xmas party but a day before my big night out - perfect timing

WilfSell · 15/12/2009 14:29

Boots online I tell ya. Mine came the next day. I can confirm it IS marvellous.

frogs · 15/12/2009 14:34

Arf at 'resurfacing primer'.

Sound like something used for tarmac-ing roads. [snurk]

nowwhatdoido · 15/12/2009 14:37

I bought mine on eBay. I'm not sure it's exactly resurfaced my face, but it feels very soft and smooth and like I say, is now shine-free

chocolatespiders · 15/12/2009 18:33

went to purchase today but couldnt find it

is it with the creams or make up?

spicemonster · 18/12/2009 21:52

Oooh it's goooooood

SpawnChorus · 23/12/2009 17:28

chocspiders - I found it on a separate section for L'Oreal studio secrets.

I've had it for a week or so now, and I have to say it's great! It really does improve the look and longevity of my (already very good) foundation.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 23/12/2009 17:29

I FINALLY found this in Boots on Oxford St. Hope it's good as have bought some for my sis for Christmas, will be blaming you lot if not.
