Have a credit note from a bag I took back which is going to expire.
What would you buy with £350 at Mulberry?

Stylelostinlabour · 07/12/2009 18:27

A little more than 350 but my fav is the somerset in OAK

Or how about

A bayswater Clutch
Kristin

Not much help but I've now lost myself looking at all the lovely bags...

dalek · 07/12/2009 18:48

If you can add a bit more I'd buy an east west bayswater - best bag I have ever owned.

champagnesupernova · 07/12/2009 19:32

What's good about the east west dalek?
I have a normal bayswater in oak - it's nice and roomy but pita to find a ringing phone for eg
I am TOYING with metallics - do they do a somerset in a metallic? I'm not sure what the somerset even looks like.
What do we think?
Thanks for replies btw

Lucky you with Mulberry credit note . DH has offered to buy me a Mulberry bag for Christmas but I can't make up my mind. The Somerset Tote was what i liked first time round but then worried that it was a bit dowdy . Shop assistant steered me towards East West Bayswater ... not sure about it. I like a bag with a lining and none of the Mulberry bags have dividers useful for splitting up all my junk! So no answers but shall watch this thread with interest. Happy shopping!!

I get it. I had a lovely replica Mulberry nicked a month ago. If I had the cash I'd love a real one. But only if I was really rich.

Everyone has different amounts of money and likes different stuff. Where's the harm?

Starlight - I don't mean to offend you at all. I think the bags are made in the UK and that they are handcrafted - don't know how long they take to make. The leather is generally really good quality and thick. Yes they are an indulgence and they are expensive.

Champagne - east west bayswater is perfect size for me now that I don't have to carry around baby stuff, it goes over my shoulder and sits very nicely. Yes dividers and lining would be nice but I love mine

I love the Roxanne. the bayswater is a bit poker up the arse for my tastes.

But... this is not a 'season' bag. You could have it (a bayswater or any of them) for years.

I am not keen on the idea of spending 3k on an 'it' bag for one season, but i don't think that's what's happening here.

she already has a credit note!!!!!

pointsmakeprizes · 07/12/2009 22:51

when does your credit note expire? A lot of the bags do go to up to 50% in the sale if you are able to wait that long?

Love the Bayswater in the metallic crocodile print!

pointsmakeprizes · 07/12/2009 22:52

sorry meant up to 50% off in the sales.

Millie1 · 08/12/2009 10:57

Do Mulberry have sales on-line or just in their outlet shops??

sh77 · 08/12/2009 11:33

Starlight - I think the poster was asking about the choice of bag rather than the moralit of spending 350 quid. You don't know anything about her situation - maybe 350 is a lot of money to her or maybe it is a drop in the ocean. Who cares? It is her choice. Calm down.

I say try the outlet stores. Call them beforehand if there is one you like.

VicarInaTinselTuTu · 08/12/2009 11:39

well everything i secretly covet on that site is over £900!

can you actually get ANYTHING for £350?

Carrotfly · 08/12/2009 11:51

There are lots of things I dont get... but I do 'get' Mulberry.

I am a bit of a traditionalist though and not really into the new colours and 'it' bags.

Darwin oak all the way for me !

I have one of the over the shoulder bags, its actually one of the mens bags but I dont think thats a problem. There is a dividing fabric piece in it, although I do agree with a previous poster that it can be a bit tricky to hunt a ringing phone down.

TheCrackFox · 08/12/2009 11:57

this one is very nice

traceybath · 08/12/2009 12:48

I've got the somerset tote which I got at Bicester for £249 - its lovely.

Do like the look of the east west bayswater though . . .

trellism · 08/12/2009 12:51

What about the shoes?

pointsmakeprizes · 08/12/2009 14:36

The online shop does the sales as well - they had some lovely bags at half price in the summer sales. I think some of the purses had even more off - definitely worth checking out in the new year sales.

dwardle · 08/12/2009 14:43

Oh no
Idly looked at this thread whilst putting off doing something else and now want a Mulberry bag!!!
Is the Bicester shop good?

HelenMc1 · 08/12/2009 15:19

I was in the Bicester store on Saturday and it was just full of the dross nobody wants - but this was about 1pm and judging by the amount of people the place had picked clean!

Sazisi · 08/12/2009 17:07

I like the Mabel Messenger in black - I don't know how much it is in sterling though - the site will only show me Euro prices: ?580

actually starlight, i think trying to make somebody feel guilty about spending a credit note is "not very nice" and I have no money at all!!
