I like it and am on the verge of ordering. For a do this weekend.

37 is a mere slip of a woman. Now I'm worried that I'm too old for my own silver sack.

Get your hair done in a nice updo to counteract the high neck. That way you'll draw attention to your face. Do you have any nice drop earrings? Possibly with a splash of colour? It's a lovely dress and the shoes will be fab with it. Suit any colouring too.

Thanks mathanxiety - good tip!

Ronaldinhio · 20/11/2009 20:57

no, I think you'll look lovely!!

PerArduaAdNauseum · 20/11/2009 21:02

Oh I love that fabric Ronald - actually looks like a pretty forgiving shape too.

And I love grey - especially with a bit of bright red. I really am a child of the 80s

Ronaldinhio · 20/11/2009 21:19

thanks!

Ronaldinhio · 20/11/2009 21:50

I also bought this again dubbed sack by dh

PerArduaAdNauseum · 20/11/2009 22:33

Like the front but I think the zip at the back cheapens it - sorry...

Ronaldinhio · 20/11/2009 22:43

I love zips atm no idea why...possibly brainwashed by someone

PerArduaAdNauseum · 20/11/2009 23:10

Zips yes, but I have a problem with navy and brass - makes me think of tacky nautical style blazers I think...

PerArduaAdNauseum · 20/11/2009 23:11

In another colour it could be very sexy - which is why I'd personally have a safety pin securing it from the inside

cornsilkwearscorsets · 21/11/2009 16:49

update-
dress is too short for me as I am an old laydee. Is nice but for a young thing. However I saw the most fab dress but I'm not saying where till I get my paws on it so as not to jinx - none in stock at the moment in my size. Won't be able to wear it tonight but I have got to have it.

oh damn. really it can't be that short and you not that old? i hope you have used next day delivery to store at jl, it is genius.

ron i have a colleague who wears a lot of whistles. she is tres petite and it looks wondrous on her, but whenever i try it goes all flimsy.

momijigari · 21/11/2009 21:15

I don't like the Chloe dress, but like all your other links Ronaldinhio. Really like the Topshop blazer, I think that is the least ageing sequinned item I have seen - been looking at loads of bling things for a party, but that is lovely and quite subtle.

Ronaldinhio · 21/11/2009 22:07

nAH i'm tall and norkily challenged

i order loads and keep little, i love whistles and hate myself for it as it's money for old rope
luckily mostly it looks shit on me
ha ha

topshop has some decent stuff atm but we all know that
liked some of the stuff baked alaska used to post but she's fecked off now
loking at wallis website again!

what are you lot loving?

cornsilkwearscorsets · 22/11/2009 13:30

'i order loads and keep little' - Ron I am exactly the same. The sending back thing is a total pain in the arse. I currently have a bag of Boden stuff, some M and S and now the JL dress to send back. Shops should have couriers like Next do. Shame their stuff is so shit really as the courier service is ace.

I am loving/covetting LK Bennet at the moment but am very nervous about ordering online due to the bad press they've had about returns.
