To complement this thread and to be looked at with scorn and derision in a few years' time when we realise how deluded we all were.

OP posts:

(love the eye liner though...)

soopermum1 · 13/11/2009 16:39

bravissimo

fanjolina · 13/11/2009 16:53

flame - agree the product is eyeliner,
but the trend (albeit as coined by magazines) is guyliner

TsarChasm · 13/11/2009 17:03

Ooh yes to guyliner - Tim Minchin!

Also like false eyelashes but have yet to have a go.

Marioandluigi · 13/11/2009 17:14

soopermum1 - agreed

Boyfriend cardigans.
Linen trousers

Marioandluigi · 13/11/2009 17:15

And Converse are my definate top one. I love all my pairs, and they last and last!

TigerFeet · 13/11/2009 17:23

guyliner, pmsl, hadn't heard that one

noel fielding... mmmmm.....

goodnightmoon · 13/11/2009 17:30

skinny jeans
ballet flats
pointy (within reason) toed heels (a more flattering look with pencil skirts then a round or square toe)
the return of classic styling (shift dresses, 50s prints, cute retro suits, etc.)
the rise and rise of belts, particularly at the waist

halfcut · 13/11/2009 17:37

Converse been around longer then the last decade though?

goodnightmoon · 13/11/2009 17:41

converse have a revival every 10 years or so. showing my age, i first wore them in the mid 80s at school, then had the low rise ones along with every other wannabe indie hipster in NYC, ca. 1995. some things are classic...
(though only have a pair of Pumas stashed in the closet now, i'm sure those are totally uncool.)

Helium · 13/11/2009 17:50

ballet pumps, gypsy skirts - some boho stuff

herjazz · 13/11/2009 17:53

ooh some more:-
side partings
dotty / spotty prints
corsages
yumi clothes
victorian style boots
victoriana frou frou and flounce in general
sequind
bold colured eye shadow
holey patterned wooly tights (pref black)
sleeves with bit of puff at shoulder / leg of mutton sleeves
fascinators
nice graduated haircuts (I had this before pob btw)
brooches

fanjolina · 13/11/2009 18:17

Fascinators are vile

herjazz · 13/11/2009 18:37

no no no fanjolina - not on me anyway

am talking luvverly little hairpieces. Not the manky thing aunt cheryl would wear for wayne's wedding

noel would LOVE it

noddyholder · 13/11/2009 19:10

agree with fascinators unless a little philliptreacy number

tiredfeet · 13/11/2009 23:18

ballet pumps for me too

funny how everyone has many more suggestions for the 'vile' fashions thread...

JANEITEisntErudite · 13/11/2009 23:24

Pencil skirts
Little fitted blazers
Ballet shoes
Cigarette pants

thelunar66 · 13/11/2009 23:26

opaque tights

SuperflousBuns · 14/11/2009 12:50

Silk tunics with cosy long boyfriend cardi (maybe belted)worn over slim trousers or jeans.

I love that outfit

BelindaCarlisle · 14/11/2009 14:46

"cashmere jumpers and trackie bottoms"

?wwhere to?

aweaninamanger · 14/11/2009 14:55

some of these things were out in the 70s 60s 50s 40s etc etc etc same old same old hardly anything is new ....monoculture

Dirtgirl · 14/11/2009 16:13

I like tucking jeans into boots. Stops the bottoms getting wet in puddles and also nice boots balance out a big arse, while also letting you wear skinny jeans.

CybilLiberty · 14/11/2009 16:46

empire line long tops

shoe boots

skinnies

cocktail rings

fringes

(I'm basically just describing what I'm wearing)

BitOfFun · 14/11/2009 17:05

Mixing in a bit of vintage- although I have been doing that since the eighties [smug]

BelindaCarlisle · 14/11/2009 18:06

ew at second hand clothes
