Or a dull dark blue?
Christ, it's grim enough without adding to the muted palette of a British winter eh?

minko - my ds has that coat too! Very nice - it's fleece lined, waterproof and has little finger gloves attached in the sleeves.

JaMmRocks · 10/11/2009 09:42

I really like this one. Shame it's so bloody expensive....

TopSop · 10/11/2009 09:50

Another vote for the bright orange Next one (has brown hood lining) - v. toasty, and DS looks scrummy in it!

vesela · 10/11/2009 11:05

Seconding minko - the green ones in H&M are really nice (I'm not sure what that sort of green is called - Land's End calls it "Park Green" - but it's the bright-but-mellow mid green that seems to be around a lot at the moment).

I bought DD one of the brown ones, though! She looks pretty good in it - she has fair colouring, and suits brown. But I think I have a different view of brown in that it's easier to liven up with other colours for a girl.

I did try and find a pale blue one for her (also in the boys' sections) but nothing doing.

Wel lthank you very much ladies.
Some really great ideas and lovely stuff.

I went with Gentle Otter's peopel in the end-got a teal (is teal sort of greenish?) coloured one.

I was going to suggest here too late.

That stuff is nice too though!

lol at Boreighty. I bought a slate grey wool duffle style coat for my son! It looks great, really old-fashioned but in a loveable paddington bear scamp way.

I hate those bright orange/yellow/green puffa coats all other little boys wear.

CMOTdibbler · 11/11/2009 09:13

DS has a bright red duffle from JL, which is lovely. He did have turd brown last year, but it was a nice design with detail that lifted it

Dirtgirl · 11/11/2009 17:06

I got a green one from Sainsburys for DS.

StillCounting · 11/11/2009 17:30

Go to Zara, they have some nice coats in bright colours and no logos.

NickNemo · 11/11/2009 17:53

momijigari, I have a Viking 3 season coat, they are lovely. Thinking of getting one for DD too now.

John Lewis had some lovely red duffle coats in the boys bot last week. £30.

Duffle coat

Meglet · 11/11/2009 21:47

the childrens ski coat department in TK Maxx. If you;re lucky you will find some great colours. They are dead warm and will have hoods and plenty of pockets. When I looked they were around the £15 mark. At least it will keep your ds dry and warm on the coldest days.

fabhead · 11/11/2009 21:48

i got the £10 bright green one from Sainsburys - very good too, waashes well and looks really nice on.

cbmum · 11/11/2009 21:50

polarn o pyret

minko · 11/11/2009 22:14

Can I just say, my H+M one is almost identical to the one on the Polarn homepage here

But green and only £30. Surprised they can get away with it as it is so alike actually...
