Mini skirt and leggings in your thirties?

I'm a petite size 10. I'd like to show off my new slim legs (been running a lot and losing weight) in leggings but can I really get away with a mini skirt at my age?

Ok, I'm not in my thirties yet - got another couple of months to go, but I am a mother of four. Will I look like mutton dressed as lamb? Or does it depend on what sort of mini skirt I choose?

Please someone help me? I'm very style-challenged.

uniqlo have some lovely mini dresses - well at least they are mini on me I suspect I am generally taller than most people.

Thanks for the tops pictures, spugs - that's really helpful

Orm - would love to wear mini-dresses, but dresses aren't so easy because of bfing.

I am 30 (tallish size 12) and wear minis loads with thick tights, leggings, boots and longer tops and cardies.

The key is I think wearing a straight skirt in something like cord or dark denim. I wouldn't wear anything flouncy or too on trend as I think that would really age me.

Ah....OK. But have a look at the site anyway. Some nice skirts and lovely jumpers. V cheap.

Thanks Orm - will go and have a peek now

Bad bad Uniqlo!

I cut down a straight ankle-length skirt and sewed the hem and it looks bloody fantastic! Somehow found some opaque tights in my drawer. But I can't put a photo on MN because I can't find the lead

The only trouble is, I'm wearing a pink top and my shoes are red . Maybe will have to go and buy new shoes

mutton dressed as lamb fab great skirt. can you do us a shot with a more fitted top? i'm not convinced about the shape of the pink top, but colour looks fine with the shoes.

Skirt, legs and shoes look great

Try a polo necked jumper that finishes at the waist- I don't want to hear anything about a muffin-top as I have visual evidence now that there isn't one

Try something like this

or this or this (tucked in with a belt) if you're still bfing
