will anything look lovely with a nice soft brown cord knee skimming a line skirt?

I picked one up in perfect condition at a charity shop yesterday, a nice label for £3 but the reason I got it is the fabric is just to die for, it is so soft and scrumptious and the lining is lovely. I dont really wear brown much I'm really a grey/green/black girl but I dont object to brown. Anyway I tried it on last night with different tops of mine just to get an idea of shapes etc and I cant find anything to pair it with. As I see it I am going to have to buy everything new for it - tights, boots and top. I have 2 pairs of boots, grey cardy uggs and black bikers with silver buckles, I dont guess they will go? All my tights are black with patterns. And most certainly none of my tops look remotely decent in either colour or shape.

So anyway this is brown, a-line, and just touches the tops of my knees. whaddya think I should do with my "bargain"?

Brown and grey look great together! But the shape of the cardy uggs would not be great with that shaped skirt

Why don't you dye it black? Get a dylon washing machine and dye it. Mind you the dye would cost around £5 so it is adding to your bargain. Either that or wear shoes?

A green top will look nice with the brown skirt. If you don't have one, you could pick one up for under £15 at either zara or m&s

risky dying things like that, sometimes the thread doesn't go the right colour. black cord with brown thread would be dire.

I had a bad dying experience recently. Got the awful thread problem, and also the dye left a residue in the machine which I can't remove, despite following the instructions to the letter

black boots and tights will be fine

green will look fab with brown

Agree with Jewelsandgems that grey and brown look great together.

Wear it with a grey or brown jumper/cardi/long sleeve tee. I have a brown a-line skirt (sadly not lovely cord though) which I wear with a brown long sleeve tee and cardi or a brown wrap cardigan and camisole.

Does sound as though you might need a pair of brown boots though. Your skirt was such a bargain......get thyself to thy local TK Maxx and find some bargainous boots

well I wont dye it I live in fear of bad dye jobs basically I have no faith in myself getting it right and it is such a lovely shade of rich galaxy brown I dont really want to change it. I dont mind buying a couple of things to wear with it. And sadly I'm a size 16 so it's likely too big for some of you ladies! Lemme go look at the label to see what it is, I dont think it is too nice but nice IYKWIM, I dont recognise the label but guess it is nice from the weight & feel of the fabric...

Ok it is jeans & co which I have just googled and it comes up with nothing so I have no idea what it is! But that's what it says. Watch it'll be primark or something but really it feels so scrummy so I wont complain anyway

If grey is alright I wonder about the cardy uggs in the neat and tidy folded down position rather than slouchy? and grey top to match? or what tights? or should I just start from scratch.

Be nice with jewel colours - purple, emerald green or a deep deep red. I think you could wear the biker boots with it too.

I wouldn't wear uggs with it.

If it's A line I'd wear something firtted on top.

I would love some purple or teal tights. Still not sure the black boots with silver buckles will go with such warm colours but will give it a try and will get a top to co-ordinate with tights/skirt etc. Thanks

oh my god I would just love some cashmere... see I am a 16 though I tend to go for really loose tops so I dont look bumpy, fitted scares me. I like crossover tops a lot because I have huge boobs and a small waist. Picture Nigella without the money to dress nicely

reasonably priced cashmere in Tesco, TK Maxx and Uniqlo.

For nice cashmere, that is. I got 2 of their machine washable jumpers last autumn and they're still going strong.

this might be nice with your skirt. Looks like they do V necks too. And other colours.

the M&S cashmere v-neck isn't deep cut enough for ample bosoms - and only comes in black (yawn)

I too have enormous knockers, and find the slash neck ones quite flattering.
