Please help me find a cardigan?

I have a fabbo M&S one and want to find another similar one but M&S seems to have failed me.

Mid-thigh length (but I am a short-arse);
Short or three-quarter length sleeves;
Open fronted, ie: no buttons - but none of those silly flouncy bits a la All Saints either;
Not belted;
Colour? Hmm - maybe a wine colour, or dark red; or black.

Hopeful thanks in advance.

this one?

ninja · 28/09/2009 20:18

Now I really think I'm getting closerhere

janeite · 28/09/2009 21:03

Nope - none of them are right either. Sorry.

Rofl at knitting one though - I might as well assemble one out of dish cloths, as it would be just as stylish.

Just spotted this Drape Cardigan whilst flipping through a 'gifts for girls' catalogue that arrived in this morning's post (along with 'presents for men' - recommended!) I couldn't help thinking of mumsnet when I saw it. Only one size though

ninja · 29/09/2009 21:47

She won't like it, too long and drapy!! [wink}

I like it though

janeite · 30/09/2009 18:13

I don't. Sorry.

lol at this thread. Janeite - it reminds me of your thread asking for book recommendations where you were, ahem, similarly hard to please.

janeite · 30/09/2009 19:03

Oh gosh - my problem is that I always know EXACTLY what I want in my mind and then nothing else ever quite matches.

I did end up with quite a few book recs though, a few of which I read and liked!

If all else fails, hit the charity shops, they are my incredible source of 'new' outfits.

Only use Oxfam for the very very last look as they have just become bread-heads and want to charge the earth, rather than saving it. I suppose that huge organisation needs a lot of money.

You can really put together some great looks from charity shops and it won't break the bank.

moonshine · 30/09/2009 21:06

My downfall is that I have the opposite problem (I do a lot of dithering and then convince myself to like something) and end up with a wardrobe of clothes that I don't like .

janeite · 30/09/2009 21:09

Maybe we should organise swaps?

One unworn Coast lace skirt in exchange for a short-sleeved, mid-thigh, non-draped dusty pink cardigan?

If had a drapey pink cardigan you could have it . I love lace but, at my age sadly, it would be a bit mutton dressed as lamb...

here are cardis the right colour but probably the wrong style?

and right shape but wrong colours?

Dang, you have me at it now!

ninja · 01/10/2009 17:13

Ooh moonshine - good call, it's going to harder to critcise those.

I hesitate to offer another suggestion, but as you've gone from poss long sleeves, to short sleeves, how about no sleeves

I have thi and tie the belt at the back. I'm a breastfeeding shortarse and think it suits me

janeite · 01/10/2009 17:37

Ninja - I like that one: so much so that I have already got it!

Short or three quarter sleeves is what I want and what I've always said!

Some of the Wallis ones look like contenders too - yay for mumsnet!
