Please help me find a cardigan?

I have a fabbo M&S one and want to find another similar one but M&S seems to have failed me.

Mid-thigh length (but I am a short-arse);
Short or three-quarter length sleeves;
Open fronted, ie: no buttons - but none of those silly flouncy bits a la All Saints either;
Not belted;
Colour? Hmm - maybe a wine colour, or dark red; or black.

Hopeful thanks in advance.

Too drapey and chunky. The colour is nice though.

too thick?

janeite · 27/09/2009 22:06

This is the sort of shape I'm after. Not white though.

I bought a nice pink belted cardi for work a couple of weeks ago from George at Asda for £10 - although I removed the belt.

Not sure it could be described as dusky mind you, but it is a nice shade

Also bought M&S purple boyfriend cardi today. Hence this post caught my eye

janeite · 27/09/2009 22:13

The John Lewis one is hideous, sorry. I would look like a weeble crossed with Barney the dinosaur.

Will have another peep at M&S - I don't go to Asda.

weird though

janeite · 27/09/2009 22:15

Nice colour but hideous shape.

Thanks for trying. Am off to bed now - I may bump this tomorrow.

I know you said you looked at M&S, but if you looked in a shop there are more on line.

this one?

this one has a few colours

this one is similar

ninja · 27/09/2009 22:54

sorry - just seen your picture so maybe those aren't right (I like them tho!)

MPearl · 27/09/2009 23:10

This thread is hilarious! - I kept checking in to see if the OP has found her dusty pink cardi yet; she has poo-pooed all suggestions & now she has gone to bed & you all are trying to find her one....I dont know if this is the norm on this thread, but I cant stop laughing!

BikeRunSki · 28/09/2009 07:22

OK, grey or charcoal rather than black or wine, but lambswool at a decent price. And you could take the belt out.

long cardy

BikeRunSki · 28/09/2009 07:22

Actually, ignore that post, that cardy is nothing like what OP asked for!

LadyoftheBathtub · 28/09/2009 08:27

Ooh but I like it Bike!

janeite · 28/09/2009 18:25

I'm sorry but we're not even close to the picture I have in my head yet!

Glad it's provided entertainment value though.

The M&S purple portfolio one is actually v nice but I tried it on and it was far, far too long and made me look very dumpy and mumsy. I'm a size 12 but the combination of norks and being a short-arse mean I have to be careful or I can look a bit matronly.

Nice clean lines, not too long, no belt is what I need. The colour is less important than the shape but I look dreadful in white, cream or anything wishy-washy.

Thanks everyone for your perseverance under extreme duress.

try sainsburys - saw a nice one there today

PutDown · 28/09/2009 19:28

Kew 'fabstretch' £36 open front,a bit drapey.
Sits at hips so not t oo long.I have navy and teal,and love them.

janeite · 28/09/2009 19:43

Not long enough, sorry. Mid-thigh is what I'm after, to wear with slim-fitting trousers. The White Company one would be perfect - if it wasn't white.

I have failed.
