Leopard print leggings - yay, nay or never?

I keep finding myself drawn to

these beauties

I'm 36, a (wobbly) size 8 but shortish (5' 4" on a good day). There's no way I'd wear them as they're styled here, I was thinking more with cropped biker boots and a uniqlo black merino tunic/dress to cover my arse - as glorified tights really.

a bit like these but mine are the GAP ones

this sort of thing

Yes? No? Have slight nagging doubt that large expanses of leopard can just look trashy/tarty. Am I running that risk?

fishie · 21/09/2009 21:18

GLITTER LEOPARD LEGGINGS? are you insane?

only two of those things are ever possible at once and even then you should tread carefully.

noddyholder · 21/09/2009 21:19

ok if you look like thisimg.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00381/cavalli_campaign1_2_381185a.jpg

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 21/09/2009 21:20

I'm thinking Bianca in Eastenders. NO NO NO!

eshermummy · 21/09/2009 21:22

Really, noone but noone likes them?
Whilst I am prepared to accept that they may be ill-advised am truly amazed that noone is sympathetic to their lure - so it must just be me that has this inner barmaid shrieking to get out?

lol trefusis not seen that for a while - was actually a big part of my childhood as my dad LOVED Kenny and videoed all his shows and watched them endlessly.
I used to want to be Cleo Rocos - come to think of it, Cleo would wear them.

No.
Possibly with long boots, def not short ones, and if the leopard print was very muted, not as gaudy as in your link. sorry!!

Unlurked · 21/09/2009 21:24

I like them.

But clearly I am wrong.

eshermummy · 21/09/2009 21:24

steady on I don't think they are glittery fishie, or is my screen not adjusted properly?
It was their matte- ness that I in part, hearted.

morningpaper · 21/09/2009 21:26

YES

DO IT

Where would Sue Pollard be if she dithered like this?

Unlurked · 21/09/2009 21:27

I don't think they are glittery. They're a definite no if glittery!

eshermummy · 21/09/2009 21:32

Not wrong unlurked, just fashion-forward

OP posts:
fishie · 21/09/2009 21:33

complete change of mind. they were very glittery looking on the computer i started with but now i have looked on big screen.

they will be marvellous with gap boots and long uniqlo thing. i own both myself.

preggersplayspop · 21/09/2009 21:38

Jeepers creepers, please don't do it.

Unlurked · 21/09/2009 21:38

Ah see, there are three of us now. Buy them buy them.

eshermummy · 21/09/2009 21:39

Noddy - I look like that in my head, does that count?

Fishie - a change of heart? Truly? All the naysayers had only served to convince me of their complete right-ness but Sue Pollard was a low blow ...
