This season is the first i've shopped at boden and i must say i am hooked. I love the patterns, the brightness and the all round happy feel. Am interested in what you've all been buying and what you still have you're beady eyes on.....

  1. I've bought: 4 round neck crew tops, 2 round neck stripe cardigans, 2 fun tank tops, 1 hand printed cardigan, 1 cloudspotter mac and have a merino tunic on order in ink and pink (am hoping this will be flattering and fab!)

  2. I still want: the rainbow cuff cardigan, a fun skirt and a printed skirt. Am still losing last of baby weight though so will wait till it's gone before buying skirts.

  3. on sale i will be fancying: skirts and trousers. Will perhaps try a dress or 2 as well.

So tell me about you....will be good to see roughly how many pieces you all buy each season on average!

Thanks for thinking of me :-)
Will keep you posted....

purplepeony · 22/09/2009 08:53

I have bought the:

60s mini in charocoal-longer length and it's nice

velvet jeans in grey

straight legged jeans

denim pencil skirt

favourite V neck cardi- got it with offer for just £25

cropped cashmere cardi- offer and paid only £45

funnel neck coat- Uptown(?) coat- in grey.

Have sent back- merino tunic ( too long for me), favourite cord- not worth the money and poor fit ( too high waist).

PutDown · 22/09/2009 12:29

I have bought
Purple velvet coat
Merino tunic in black/grey
Silk floral top in brown/teal patern which is lovely.
Pintuck tunic in purple.
Teal long sleeved rouched front top.
Don't know if I want anything else, probably get jeans/knitwear in sale.

ADifferentMe · 22/09/2009 12:38

Spent over a £1000 (after discount!) in preview - sent it all back except for grey Henley dress, striped hoodie (worn nearly every day since arrival) and brown inverted pleat skirt.

Nothing else made me think "wow" when I put it on, and that's my new money saving rule.

I loved the cashmere cropped cardigans but they were just too cropped for my height/shape - beautiful colours though.

FranSanDisco · 22/09/2009 12:39

I have received the back pack in purple, tan dalmation plimsols and belt plus silver belt. I am waiting on mulberry spot scarf and zebra print trench coat.

Grisette · 22/09/2009 13:50

How the ell is anyone got the £££££££££ for this? its da credit cruch don't you know?

dexter73 · 22/09/2009 13:56

We are spending our way out of the recession! It's for the good of the country!

chattermouse · 22/09/2009 16:07

Well some fabulous goodies listed by you all!

Fransan, am liking your penchant for animal print this season . I love those plimsolls too so shall watch the sale for them i think.

Adifferentme - You do very well to insist on the 'wow' factor. I ummed and ahhed over the hotchpotch dress but in the end it went back. It fitted well, looked lovely and would have been useful for lots of occasions but, for the money i wanted 'wow', and it just didn't shout that at me.

cariboo · 22/09/2009 19:53

am I the only loser who buys Boden for her dd but not for herself?

Errrnonymous · 22/09/2009 19:56

The biker boots (brown) are in my shopping bag but i can't quite bring myself to press the button. I need an OFFER. (Have a 15% code but feel I should try harder ...)

cariboo · 22/09/2009 19:56

eBay??

cariboo · 22/09/2009 20:14

seriously! there was a gorgeous mini Boden duffle (used) for sale yesterday that I had my beady eye on but eventually the bidding got hysterical & it sold for more than the price of a new one.

Grisette · 22/09/2009 20:24

The children's duffle coats are dry clean only. Made that mistake once, never again.

cariboo · 22/09/2009 20:27

Thanks Grisette! Hadn't thought of that. I usually buy dc's coats from Lands End cos they can be chucked in the wash over & over.

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 22/09/2009 21:18

cariboo - No

DD has far too much. Bought her nearly everything from cable knit cardis, skirts and dresses to the spotty coat, beret set, and fur lined boots.

'Tis too much nice stuff!

gerbiltamer · 05/10/2009 15:16

I love Boden too and have bought the circles jersey shirt this season in the 20% off daily offer which they ran at the end of August. I'm really lusting after the Vintage Denim Inverted Pleat skirt though but they've never got any in stock in my size. There's on selling on eBay at the moment but the long length is a frumpy 25 inches and that's not a flattering length!

Oumasrusks · 05/10/2009 16:56

Gerbiltamer - if you look on Boden's website first thing in the morning, they often have limited stock of those skirts in a variety of sizes.

I recently had the black dalmation print plimsolls delivered (they are gorgeous) and the toasty zip up top from the preview site arrived on Thursday. It's so warm and cosy so I'm glad I ordered it.

DorotheaPlentighoul · 05/10/2009 17:11

OK, someone has to explain to me the allure of Boden. I just took my first ever look at the site and I have to say I am not massively excited by it ... but didn't really explore very much.

I always see MNers posting references to Boden as though it's some sort of in-joke but despite having been here more than 2 years, I am not in on the joke ... what does Boden represent, IYSWIM?

boodeniites · 05/10/2009 17:22

it doesnt represent anything we are not buying it to say oh look at us were soooo middle class i buy it because it suits me i like nice bright colours and the stuff is well made and lasts for ages and doesnt go out of "style" as such and i take care of it and resell on ebay when im finished wih it you cant do that with a lot of other brands

boodeniites · 05/10/2009 17:31

sorry didnt mean we and us i am only speaking for myself getting carried away

DorotheaPlentighoul · 05/10/2009 17:54

OK, so it is regarded as having "so middle class" connotations then? (I am inferring this from your post)

Not being sarky, I genuinely don't know. I am in Scotland, maybe that is why? Nobody ever seems to mention it in the RL I inhabit (Edinburgh).

I just have been wondering about it for a while and this seemed like the right place to ask

tulpe · 05/10/2009 18:36

I have bought:

Ruched waist dress in moss green (with the purple flowers). I LOVE this dress and it makes me smile when I wear it

Biker Jacket in brown.

Merino wool tunic in magenta (from the summer sale section). I am layering it up with long sleeve tee - have navy and purple - and leggings, jeans or tights. Again, it is such a vibrant gorgeous colour and I love standing out in a sea of "winter black & grey" .

Straight leg jeans in indigo - these are still in packaging as haven't had time to try them on.

I bought and returned the parisienne tee in navy. Shame - I thought it had a white stripe rather than grey .

I am considering buying some knitwear in the sales but nothing specific at the moment.

boodeniites · 05/10/2009 18:49

DorotheaPletyghoul sorry yes it is connected with being middle class ( i am not by the way) i live in Scotland too and you must go to Waitrose in Morningside you will see the Boden catalogue in full detail or go to the Country Living Fair in the SECC in November again to see it in all its splendour i cant wait for that actually
