here It's not cheap I know, but the fabric is so soft. It is long in the body so I can bend over in jeans without revealing ar** and it skims the waist so no muffin top issues.

Looks lovely but £48????

Maveta · 20/09/2009 21:45

those are LOVELY and i covet them.. the fabric is so soft. i do worry they´d warp after one wash and i´d freak out after spending that money

CHOOGIRL · 20/09/2009 21:51

No have washed it in the machine and it is still lovely. Have ordered a couple more in white and charcoal.

these are my staple t-shirt,nice and long

monkeysmama · 20/09/2009 21:55

Ggirl I've been considering getting a few of those AA ones. Do they wash well? Thank you.

brimfull · 20/09/2009 21:58

yes they do but i don't tumble dry them

I have numerous colours ,they are quite big so best to read the reviews to get the size right

Megglevache · 20/09/2009 22:00

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOh that looks really nice!

LauraIngallsWilder · 20/09/2009 22:02

£48 for a t shirt that looks a bit like a maternity tent

No thanks!

LetThemEatCake · 20/09/2009 22:04

American Vintage is fabulous, well worth the extra ££

Meglet · 20/09/2009 22:06

ggirl the AA t-shirt looks just like what I've been looking for.

.

PestoLovelyMonster · 20/09/2009 22:07

£48 for a t-shirt

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2009 22:08

I want some American Apparel tshirts too.

Dh works round there might visit for lunch soon. The people working there look great.

LetThemEatCake · 20/09/2009 22:10

sighs.

Megglevache · 20/09/2009 22:10

Choo has it kept it's shape and did it bobble? I find the pricier they are the quicker they bobble

CHOOGIRL · 20/09/2009 22:13

Has kept shape and not bobbled. The tshirt top is made of a really soft cotton fabric - not like normal t-shirt material so I have a feeling it will last for years.

Nice top

"American Vintage... is quickly gathering notoriety in the UK..."

Notoriety? What? Have their designers been keying cars and upsetting the neighbours with their noisy parties?

cookielove · 20/09/2009 22:16

wtf no way 48 for one t shirt, that is to much for me

monkeysmama · 20/09/2009 22:18

Thanks gg.

monkeysmama · 20/09/2009 22:18

Thanks gg.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/09/2009 22:19

Septimus

LTEC - why the sigh? I won't balk at buying cashmere to BF in (after your cardicoat thread the other day I ordered a lovely one from Pure!), but I refuse to spend 50 quid on a t-shirt.

CHOOGIRL · 20/09/2009 22:19

Oh FFS - I went to Tesco Express the other day purchased a couple of bits and didn't have much change from £50. Food has all gone now - whereas the t-shirt which cost £44 with my mumsnet discount is still giving me pleasure. Has no-one heard of fashion maths???

LetThemEatCake · 20/09/2009 22:24

just a sigh, Alibaba, just a sigh.

Lovely to hear about the cashmere BFing cardi though, can you link?

LauraIngallsWilder · 20/09/2009 22:25

Choogirl of course
A tenner for a t shirt and you have £40 change for food
£48 for a t shirt and you only have £2 left for food

As I said before £48 for a tshirt is ridiculous however long it lasts (especially if it billows like a maternity shirt)
I have loads of clothes I have owned and loved for years and rarely spend more than £20 on any one item
Never more than £15 on a t shirt

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/09/2009 22:30

this in the mink

It is delicious, hangs very nicely without the belt too.

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 20/09/2009 22:32

The AV one is the better of the two imo - the AA one looks positively manly with that butch v and baggy shape.

The AV one flares out too much for me but I suppose it would suit someone with boobs and skinny hips.
