what do you wear with jeans/trousers? I like the look of converse but feel they don't look good with my large feet and not very great height.

Get them, they are trans seasonal staples.

shandyleer · 20/09/2009 19:46

That should of course be "too" cold, sorry distracted by Simon Cowell (sadly only on the telly, not in my sitting room.)

Ballet style shoes.

captainmillenniumflint · 20/09/2009 19:49

fat trainers (converse are terrible for long feet ime, make em look like flippers ditto ballet shoes)

scroobiuspirate · 20/09/2009 19:54

adidas shelltoes, the love of my life, i refuse to never have a pair.

or socks with your sandals

MarthaFarquhar · 20/09/2009 19:57

old skool adidas
or flat pumps (ballet-ish)

FromGirders · 20/09/2009 20:04

I just went from sandals yesterday morning, to boots in the afternoon! Yay, I love boot season. Don't do trainers. However, I compromised with ballet flats today.

Wilts · 20/09/2009 20:04

I wear converse ( am a size 7)

scroobiuspirate- I read that as adidas stilettos and thought what on earth are they

shandyleer · 20/09/2009 20:10

Do you think ballet shoes look ok on long feet? I always worry my feet will enter the room two minutes before the rest of me.

OP posts:
captainmillenniumflint · 20/09/2009 20:55

i do believe it's my only irrational area with clothes - i cannot stand narrow flat shoes (also a 7). with a heel they're shorter so it's much less of an issue. naked, or in sandals, they look lovely, but put them in enclosed flat shoes - particularly with narrow trousers/leggings and they look ridiculous (to me). but throughout my teenage years i wore docs and army boots, so i'm clearly just warped

shandyleer · 20/09/2009 21:32

I think I'm with you on this Captain. I see other people wearing ballet pumps/converse etc and think they look lovely, but just can't do it, feel ridiculous. I have this dilemma every year, still looking for an answer!

ballet type shoes, i like rocket dog though some have torn my feet up. find they go grotty pretty quickly though (why is that?). wore converse as a teen and then went off them for about 10 yrs thinking they gave me flipper feet. back into them now, they are comfy and they look fine on everyone else so they must look ok.. i like the levi´s imitation converse, the high top bit folds down so not too flipper like..

lou33 · 20/09/2009 21:48

peeptoe heels

squeaver · 20/09/2009 21:51

Seriously, Converse.

They are the official MN casual shoe with jeans, dontcha know.

captainmillenniumflint · 20/09/2009 22:45

hahaha, indeed.

AnyFucker · 20/09/2009 22:54

converse (large foot size is ok, IMO)

or old-school type trainers (Adidas, Dunlop etc)

shoe-boots if you want a heel

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/09/2009 22:55

I've got a pair of loafers from Geox that I wear loads at this time of year. Just had a quick look on their website and can't see anything casual that looks nice in this season's collection.

sleepsforwimps · 20/09/2009 23:18

I have these, they are super comfy, I love the fact they make me taller and they look great with my flared jeans.

Heathcliffscathy · 20/09/2009 23:20

you know when converse have become the mn staple shoe that it's time to MOVE ON....

paisleyleaf · 20/09/2009 23:22

Not particularly cool, but I've got some of those desert boots (I think that's what they're called), they're comfy and a nice forest green colour.

BonsoirAnna · 21/09/2009 19:46

I wear ballet flats at the moment - have abandoned my Birkenstocks for 2009 .

strongblackcoffee · 21/09/2009 19:47

I have size 9 feet, look great in Converse and am wearing ballet flats mostly at the moment

deaddei · 21/09/2009 21:50

Strongblackcoffee- I too have size 9's- where are you getting ballet pumpd from?

ReducedToThis · 21/09/2009 21:53
