My goodness, this thread moves faster than I can read!!

Balloonslayer, thanks for your description of the longsighted mum: that's going to be me next year, gah ! DSs 1 and 2 keep wanting to be reassured that I am not going to die anytime soon... What to say without lying to them: "What is soon anyway, dears? Time is relative. I will make your lives so miserable it will certainly seem like a v long time..."

No facial hair here, but grey of head and fanj. 'Tis what really really bothers me, not too fussed about general wobbliness (and I had just lost some weight earlier this year which obviously helped fertility along just nicely and will guarantee that I will be BIG again in no time at all ).

Exercise? EXERCISE?? Do you all know how dangerous exertion can be???

This thread is an absolute tonic as my MIL if fond of saying - can you turn into your MIL rather than your mother? [faints]

Deeeja · 20/09/2009 20:50

I used to use neutrogena anti-aging handcream, and it was excellent.I still remember the awful day when it simply stopped working. Even my nails are awful, so ridged, it takes an age to buff them smooth, or smoother.
I am sure I have started to grow hairs on my knuckles now too.
Immac wax strips are good Riven.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 20/09/2009 21:01

Well, I'm 39 (40 next Feb - gulp). Just had DS (7mths) and by god, the 3 1/2 yrs between him and DD have taken their toll - I am KNACKERED!

Grey hair reguarly dyed - wierdly though I only get it around the roots on my forhead.]

BUT, can only dye the hair that didn't fall out at the temples after DS. And now that it's growing back ITS EVEN GREYER!

I have, on the bright side, lost 3 stone (another 2 to go) since DS born and am feeling pretty chipper and more attractive (apart from the knackerdness) for a long time.

Do keep finding myself horribly drawn to sensible shoes. In my minds eye I want see myself as glamorous mum, manage it about once of week, rest of the time I am more last nights make up mum (but I try).

Deeeja · 20/09/2009 21:01

No-one know of a miracle handcream, under a tenner?

squeaver · 20/09/2009 21:02

Why is every thread on here a boot thread nowadays?

Cybill/Dilly - how many time?? GO TO DUO.

MaggieBeauLeo · 20/09/2009 21:04

MyCatIsAbigger, you'll bounce back (a bit)

I'd just had two kids in 3 and a half years on my 36th birthday and I felt the shittest then I've ever felt.

39 now, feel younger than I did at 36 iykwim

BirdyArms · 20/09/2009 21:06

I want to join, am only 38 but have very wrinkly eyes as a result of years of eye eczema. And I've recently sprouted a chin hair. My hair isn't grey but I was very offended on my last visit to the hairdressers when she went on and on about how lucky I am not to be grey yet, I am obviously looking at least my age.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 20/09/2009 21:12

Cheers Maggie. I bloody hope so. Its partly my own fault cause I am feeding DS and co-sleeping most of the night so he wakes regularly for a nice little suckle to sleep. 7mths in and I'm getting pretty tired of it now. Going to have to get tough soon.

V tired but am a grown up so am going to stay up tonight, even if it kills me!

MaggieBeauLeo · 20/09/2009 21:14

I only have a few grey hairs, but have been checking the chin in good light for years

I was in Tesco earlier today and one of those sample ladies was giving out goo on a cracker. She mistook a ten yr old's mother for his grandma! Both of their faces froze. 10 year boy totally unmoved. Funny and cringey.

lilibet · 20/09/2009 21:15

Lack of money for clothes gets me too. I like Sainsburys stuff, especially when they do 25% off everything. I also need new boots but ahve about £20 to spend. Primark here I come.

I use the neutrogena hand cream too.

Jajas, I was testing my hairdresser last time I was there. I said, I want to go a bit shorter, now that I'm nearly forty I can't keep putting my hair in a pony tail.
I waited for him to say "oh? are you going to be forty?".

conspicuous silence.. he just said, right, I'll graduate it in at the sides (blah blah blah)

lilibet · 20/09/2009 21:25

And I am really with Kerry over the Myla advert.

Get rid of it!

Hassled · 20/09/2009 21:26

Another sad old git here - aged and crippled with indecision re what the fuck to wear.

And I have a moustache which I did bleach and now just looks like a blonde moustache - will get waxing. It's all just so bloody time-consuming, isn't it? Working so hard to look a damn sight worse than I did 10 years ago.

And and and - I have weird eyebrow hairs. The ones in the bit I pluck that regrow - all thick and dark and pube-like. Is that an age thing or am I just odd?
