Tights with this dress?

misha print dress for a slightly alternative wedding (we're all camping out, and will have my wellies on standby)

The woman in the dressing rooms suggested purple tights.

I'm not so sure. They make me feel a bit like a four year old at a christmas party.

Have ordered the Rocket Dog Otto Ii in purple. From Schuh to try. Presumably not with purple tights.

Also, i got a daft looking fascinator as the bride is absolutely insisting on hats. I can't seem to find any hats that aren't old lady style. Where do you find funky hats?

TIA

Well you've all said different things. As is the wonder of mumsnet.

So I had a dress rehearsal last night and the best look was the dress with dark purple tights and tan leather knee length boots with a heel.
No hat, no fascinator. Just good hair me thinks.

I popped round to my sisters way overdressed for a sunday evening and she approved wholeheartedly bearing in mind i will be expected to erect a tent in my outfit.

The purple heels haven't arrived yet but i'm fairly sure i feel comfortable in the boots and it all goes together nicely.

Thanks all.

I'm finally excited about this now I'm going to look nice.

So thankyou.

Gold tights. Go for it.

I have a hat in mind that will suit and will begin my quest to find it. Don't get purple tights.

cornsillk · 22/09/2009 17:54

something like thisbut not that colour.

AnyFucker · 22/09/2009 17:59

well, I would have teal tights

with purple wellies is ok, or trendy purple wedges with an open toe (unless the field is going to be muddy)

dunno about the Rocket Dog shoes, am not keen on them

errr, you do know how cold it is going to be dont you ?

I would find a long sleeved t-shirt to go under your dress/thermal vest and some thick woolly socks for your wellies

er, have a nice time (thanks Gawd I don't have to do this......)

LetThemEatCake · 23/09/2009 00:04

LOL, glad you got it sorted! Have a fab time

Thought of you on weekend when I bought lovely china plate from street stall, put it in bottom of stroller and forgot to take it out before folding stroller to put in boot of car..... crrrrrrrrrunch. Stroller clanks and jangles awfully now but can I be arsed to remove fragments? Ha.

Stick them in the post LTEC.

I always feel a tad guilty in the charity shop when the woman always wraps up the china so carefully not knowing that i fully intend to break it as soon as i get home.
