Were I (hypothetically) to buy this dress, which colour?

Here

Pale or dark?

IMHO - I think the bright pink dress would look stunning. It is fab!

But... the lighter rose fabric dress has the potential to... errr... how do I put this...maybe 'wash you out a bit' as my Mother would say.

Have fun in Brussels!

BonsoirAnna · 16/09/2009 19:45

Yes, I have a plan .

Actually, I already went shopping today and bought two pairs of very beautiful warm and practical winter trousers and some -pretty suede highly functional ankle boots. But that is day wear and doesn't count

Nodding in agreement at "as my mum would say " it looks shoddy""

The skirt can't be serious, surely?

millenniumfalcon · 16/09/2009 19:53

lol dogon re dummy i thought exactly the same.

millenniumfalcon · 16/09/2009 19:55

hang on your username's nothing to do with the dogon is it

cruelladepoppins · 16/09/2009 19:59

Last dress looks like nightie(sorry Anna!)

However I would wear the original pink one for winter with my black Uniqlo heat tech poloneck, opaque tights and black knee boots. But then again, on another thread someone said her 70 yr old MIL dressed like me so perhaps you had better not take my advice ...

Crapweasel · 16/09/2009 20:01

Minus the ruffle, the "alabaster and rose" dress reminds me of a winceyette nightie

dogonpoints · 16/09/2009 21:37

millenium, no. Not dogon

dexter73 · 16/09/2009 21:54

I love the gloves that you are supposed to wear with the flowery dress!!
I see your cashmere wristwarmers and raise you sheepskin ones!

millenniumfalcon · 16/09/2009 21:57

i've been consistently misreading it, only realised after my first post.

i had it in my head that it was like a loyalty card scheme but for, well, tribes who know more than they should do about astronomy... um, yeah but the usernames on here get more and more outlandish it seemed to make a kind of sense at the time

dogonpoints · 16/09/2009 22:04

I am a dog on points. Think ballet.

millenniumfalcon · 16/09/2009 22:09

clearly, much more sensible

Penthesileia · 16/09/2009 22:27

Definitely the pink. Love the colour.

I really like that red skirt - very striking.

T-shirt looks very wearable.

Not sure about the rose-print dress, but if you can carry off that frilly bit, then go for it. I would look dopey, for sure!

@ your shopping budget!!

Have fun shopping!

BonsoirAnna · 19/09/2009 18:11

I went to the Marni store on Avenue Montaigne this afternoon. Lots and lots of items in the rose print and they are fab but ££££++++. They didn't have the red skirt but they had the same design in navy, and the t-shirt in light grey (boring, boring but shape is great). Still thinking...

Anna

I have just bought the most divine Anthologie frock.

It's called Gemini, I will try and find it for you. Hold on.

Jumente · 19/09/2009 18:23

Ici

bodeniites · 19/09/2009 18:44

i like that Anthology dress though it looks very summery and suspiciously like the pattern of an Anthology coat i once had

Jumente · 19/09/2009 18:48

Ooh really? I like the pattern, it's not your kind of weak 'ditsy' you see in Dotty P's etc, it's a really heavy textured cotton with sort of fading. It feels like a 1940s fabric, almost seersuckerish but not iyswim - like a rough open weave? But thick.

I plan to wear it with a cardi during autumn, maybe a t shirt under and cardi covering sleeves when it's colder.

I love it.

Also got the dress lower down on that page, which is whitish with brown beaded straps. It is GORGEOUS though very weddingy...the material is 5% steel you can feel it - quite stiff.

bodeniites · 19/09/2009 18:57

oh in that case Ditsy one is lovely wish i was a 12...mutter grumble my coat sold for peanuts on Ebay i was gutted

Jumente · 19/09/2009 19:01

I have only just discovered anthology

Can't afford their stuff unless it is 70% off but it's so pretty.

Sorry about your coat

The sizing isn't generous btw if anyone is thinking of getting it. I'm normally a 10, the 12 is fine but a 10 would have been a bit fitted I think.

Same with the Noli one.

Though i will have to get married now, to wear it. And it does make me look slightly expectant.

Clary · 19/09/2009 19:07

Glad I can't afford things like that red skirt.

It really wouldn't flatter my big a**e

Anna is very very slim, non?
