don't you find it draughty?
God I have hit middle age

moondog · 06/09/2009 20:45

Aye, dry cleaning the way to go I think.]
I have buggerdcup a lot of nice things in the wash before now, thinking with particular pain of a fantastic cardigan I wore once in winter of '86 afore 'twas gone forever.

jkklpu · 06/09/2009 20:45

I love cardigans but don't like this one - at least one too may layers. And it's extoritionate for a garment that is 70%man-made fibre. Look elsewhere.

LetThemEatCake · 06/09/2009 20:51

Ninah - I am Australian and even after 10 years here, I live in denial about the weather. ALWAYS think that I can 'manage' without a winter coat until I finally crack (into a thousand shards of ice) around january and buy one in the sale, And then get annoyed because "it's a waste of money on something that I'm only going to need for another few weeks, it will be warm soon"

DH has to remind me that, no, it is not going to be warm soon and could you please just come to terms with your geographical location.

He said to me, oh so very gently, the other day, "now, what shoes are we going to get you this winter? You need to keep your feet warm, none of this flip-flops in November stuff this year, okay?"

Being born and bred in the English Midlands I fully embrace the weather and am incapable of packing without throwing in a thick sweater (just in case)
A good set of thermals under that if you buy it!
having said that I lived in town just long enough to resent buying any kind of anoracky waterproof thing
but it is cold. and there will be snow, and chillblains are annoying
you really have brought out my inner Saga subscriber, off to make Ovaltine now

SixtyFootDoll · 06/09/2009 21:01

OP tht cardigan is hideous
and over priced

Pinkfluffyslippers · 06/09/2009 21:04

Nice but 70% acrylic and at that price that means no!!!

LetThemEatCake · 06/09/2009 21:06

and again she says ... not to buy, to ask my mum to make me something similar in wool so that I can breastfeed in it...

LTEC how about looking at patterns?

I don't know anything about adult patterns, but did have some stuff made for ds. Patterns and wool from Liberty (bloody ell) so was really nice stuff.

Unless no pattern required then bravo your mum for knitting without one.

moondog · 06/09/2009 21:29

Potato, to be fair, Clarks have come quite good recently, it must be said.

LetThemEatCake · 07/09/2009 09:44

right.

sent the pattern to my mum - sorted.

and bought the isabella oliver for good measure - thanks moondog

mate has one she wears with layered tops underneath
bUT she is titchy tiny and blonde.

any bigger than a 8 and you look like Miriam Margoyles I fear.

Corporalcornsilk · 07/09/2009 18:23

Did you get that white company one LTEC?

Flamesparrow · 07/09/2009 18:24

Noah - read that as your mate being bitchy and tiny. Thought it made a difference to the style

NoahFence · 07/09/2009 18:24

the link doesnt work

Tortington · 07/09/2009 18:27

i think it looks like the dogs blanket

NoahFence · 07/09/2009 18:28

NoahFence · 07/09/2009 18:28

no she looks GREAT in it - at the rugby pitch and the rest of us feel like great galumphing beasts.

LetThemEatCake · 07/09/2009 18:29

no, it sold out!!! Gutted.

Bought the Isabella Oliver one the moondog likes instead.

here

and EleanoraBuntingCupcake sent me a pattern for a blanket cardi which my mum can make for me in chocolate or green ... depends on what wool she can get.
