girls boots nice purple boots

women's boots nice purple boots

i might even prefer the girls ones, leather not patent. and less of a trainer shoe soul. They wouldn't go up that far on an adult's calf would they? I'm only size 12 but have inthe past found it a tight squeeze zipping up fancy boots.

wdyt? bad idea to order the girls ones?!

It's worth a go with free returns.

orangina · 24/08/2009 12:54

You need to have thin calves.

I bought the converse style trainers this summer (girls) for me.... they had

MINI BODEN

printed on the back of the heel.

They had to go back

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 12:56

oh that's funny!!

mini boden. not so bad for a woman, but makes me think of samantha from sex and the city, she was having great sex with a man who was not quite her height. she lookedinside his jacket and it said bloomingdale for boys

back to the calf issue though... I was thinking that the top of the boot might not come up as high as the round part of my calf.. they look like low boots, just a bit higher than ankle.

am i kidding myself?

I've just got a mini Boden coat for myself, was tempted to go for some boots too.

Give it go, you can always send them back.

madrose · 24/08/2009 13:11

go for the girls boots - and thank for pointing them out, i'm going to have a go with the purple ones

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 13:12

a coat?! you must be a sylph!

I wish the catalogue said how many inches tall the boots were, then I could measure and see if it went up to the 'fat' bit of my calf.

ThePregnantPhantomPlopper · 24/08/2009 13:17

size 8, 5ft 4, the 11-12yrs fit perfectly .

Can you email them and ask how tall they are?

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 13:20

that's interesting! I used to wear children's clothes when I was size 8. Good for you. Saved a few bob I bet!

I will email them and ask them. good idea.

there's a tab "Body/garment measurements" next to those boots...does that have the info you need?

Back height: 32.0cm 12.6" for size 38

purplepeony · 24/08/2009 15:13

sounds great- I have skinny calves-off to look now!

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 15:35

knickknakc, they emailed me back and did not even mention that I am blind not to have seen that tab. I didn't notice it though. tvm!

so, size 39 is 33inches tall so I reckon that is comfortably under the round part of calf so they should zip up fine (i think!) famous last words.

OP posts:
MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 15:36

i mean 33 cm obviously. 13.1 inches

I have my eye on a Next age 15-16 winter school coat - the grey swing one...

BikeRunSki · 24/08/2009 15:45

large chunky legs, huge feet, size 14.

macherie · 24/08/2009 15:45

I got a great spring jacket in Monsoon girls age 12-13, lovely trapeeze shape and orla kiely-esque lining, for about 10euro in the sale. I have had lots of compliments on it! Also buy ballet flats and wellies in monsoon girls.

Got a lovely pale gold cardigan from boden age 12, and breton t shirt last season.

There has to be some benefit to being short

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 15:48

this coat, bottom right?

The dark brown buckle boots look a bit like fly london boots but have an 8 week wait.

FlightHattendant · 24/08/2009 16:00

I used to do this when I was anorexic, C&A underwear from the teens dept! I can't do it now, makes me feel weird...I'd rather pay a bit more and feel like a grown up. Purely psychological though!!

FlightHattendant · 24/08/2009 16:01

Plus they don't do girls boots in a 42

SoupDragon · 24/08/2009 16:02

Those girls boots are hideously shiny and foul. They look like they're made of plastic.

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 16:19

Soup, I thnk the last thing I posted on style and beauty, you said it was hideous too! you also hate my children's names! ah well!

OP posts:
FlightHattendant · 24/08/2009 16:31

The girls ones are FAR nicer than those crinkly cellophane effect womens ones.

Orange especially good

MaggieLeo · 24/08/2009 16:46

That's what I thought flight. women's ones look cheap imo. girls ones look leather.

i tried boys baseball boots and they were terribly short in the foot. i think am just too bigly footed.
