So all of those are obviously going to the charity shop.

What do ginger girls wear?! Help!

This would look so cute on a red-head.

I forgot to say congratulations in my last post, sorry. Girls are great (in case you didn't already know).

Lizzylou · 21/08/2009 19:32

Congratulations, I had a 10lb 11oz baby boy and can feel your pain and vouch for the fact that she will not be in those newborn clothes for long/if at all.

I have two boys, so have indulged in fantasy girl baby shopping, indulge me.

This?

Love this

OOH

Love this

THank you, that was such a refreshing change from pirates and diggers.

popsycal · 21/08/2009 19:34

ooh i saw a lovely knitted stripey thing in M and s today and it almost made me wish I had a girl...let me see if I can find it

popsycal · 21/08/2009 19:34

ooh and congratulations

PleaseMrsButler · 21/08/2009 19:36

Tesco has quite a lot of teals and aqua's in ATM....but they are definately girlie clothes so shoudln't mistake for a boy.

jumpjockey · 21/08/2009 19:36

DD started out a redhead (now much blonder, strawberry blonde) with very fair colouring, the standard bubblegum pink stuff really didn't suit her so we put her in as much hot pink and purple and red as we could find. Charity shops are great - send a friend out on a mission and stay in enjoying your lovely new baby Congratulations!

joliejolie · 21/08/2009 19:49

Congratulations!!!!
I would say one really nice outfit from Monsoon to meet all of the family. They always have cute booties to match.

Boden has some cute baby girl things as well.
I love this in pink with the kitty on back! Cardi's are very useful!

helpivegottogivebirth · 21/08/2009 19:51

my fave outfit, but expensive...

helpivegottogivebirth · 21/08/2009 19:52

sorry no good at links

my fave outfit, but expensive... here

deaconblue · 21/08/2009 19:53

congratulations. My niece was a huge ginger baby who looked a little like phil mitchell. within weeks her hair was blonde and she looked fine in pink. don't chuck it all.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/08/2009 19:56

I was going to say mothercare has some lovely plum, orange, and red wine colour outfits that are absolutely gorgeous but someone beat me to it with the mothercare recomendation. These are outfits though im not to sure about actual sleepsuits/rompers.
Congratulations.

popsycal · 21/08/2009 19:57

two of my friend's daughthers have auburn hair
they look gorgoue sin purple/aubergine colours

joliejolie · 21/08/2009 20:05

Two of my dc have auburn hair and they are always complimented on the colour. They also have the most amazing green eyes!
They don't have fair complexions though, so I never worried about colours really.

I would say purple as well.

NotSoRampantRabbit · 21/08/2009 20:09

DD (10 weeks) is ginger and proud. She looks great in pink (although I may be blinded by hormones).

DS is strawberry blonde and he looks good in greens and blues.

Congratulations on being a fully paid up member of the Ginger Club.

BertieBotts · 21/08/2009 20:10

Try Boots (mini mode) - they seem to have lots of greens and wine-reds for girls

differentDM · 21/08/2009 20:12

I think the only shade of pink that isn't great with red hair is what I term Barbie pink. Pastel shades look really lovely and the deeper shades like magenta.

Congratulations on your new arrival- Just hope you haven't called her Annie

joliejolie · 21/08/2009 20:15

Royal, cobalt and duck egg blue are all good colours. I would say avoid orange, peachy colours, yellow or brown. Based soley on the fact that those colours don't suit my dc.

joliejolie · 21/08/2009 20:18

My dd is called Annie...!
It is her middle name, but she hates her first name so goes by Anne.

When she was first born she had this mad blonde-red hair that I never could control. She was (is!) so beautiful!

Elemental · 21/08/2009 20:56

Congrats! And ginger is the best hair colour too! I was delighted to have a lovely redhead DS (was 9 pounds 4 at birth, now 5 months). Red is really his colour and teal is a close second.

helpivegottogivebirth · 21/08/2009 21:07

why is the colour called ginger when a lump of ginger is actually a pale yellowy colour?

ThingOne · 21/08/2009 21:21

Congratulations! Fading red haired mother of red DS here. His was fairly ginger when he was small but is now a rather more subtle shade of auburn. Still fab though!

Red hair rocks.

SoupDragon · 21/08/2009 22:06

I made it a mission not to dress DD in pink. It has been surprisingly easy.

TheMysticMasseuse · 21/08/2009 22:12

picante where do you live? There is a danish or swedish shop called P.O.P (Polarn o Pyret or something) where they have clothes in every colour but pink

btw- congratulations! I LOVE, but LOVE, red hair. i think the brits are bonkers (I am italian) in that respect. it was always my dream to be a redhead or have a redhead dc.

newspaperdelivery · 21/08/2009 22:41

Congratulations!

I have 2. It's all about finding the right shade of pink. Cool pastel shades suit my 2 fine. Bubblegum pink makes them look very hot and bothered.

They wear lots of pale blue too.

Also cream is lovely.

sweetkitty · 21/08/2009 22:50

Congratulations, I have secretly wanted a ginger auburn daughter, I love it such a striking hair colour, I reckon the whole gingist thing is through jealously all those boring blonde/light brown/brown hair colours, when you look at kids in a playground your eyes are drawn to the striking orange hair.

We must see pictures
