stylish ladies please help......need a statement dress for v glam wedding

going to 3 weddings and 1 will be v glitzy/glam affair so need a real stand out dress but also very elegant and stylish.

am size 10 and 5'7 and style is fashionable but classic. want a wow dress.

budget of up to about £250 as will wear to all 3 dos and really want to love it. ordered 3 dresses from net a porter but none fitted right or had the wow factor.

please help!!!!

FWIW there is a chain of shops called Joy in London where I have found the most AMAZING dresses for weddings. They only do a few of each style so not going to be on anyone else and are actually pretty cheap.

colours? What kind of style - fitted, long, mid length?

not black but would consider most colours except obviuosly white/cream etc. saw fab tonia bastien dree on john lewis site but was opal so too close too white and also cant imagine colour would suit anyone except olive skinned.

oh tracy what a fab start - love that but have already got a black one shoulder coast dress so want something a bit different. do love reiss though!! and was it just me or were both those links the same??

colouring - brunette with fair skin but will fake tan up a bit!

like that too - hadnt planned on strapless as i find unless perfect fit you see people yanking them up. would need to try on re fit and colour as not sure if that shade of pink would be flattering.

like the 2nd karen millen but silk satin v unforgiving, no? also wary re karen millen as could well end up in same dress as someone else )who would be size 6 and stunning!!)

cant believe how close you are both getting though - would you believe the green westwood is one of the 3 i ordered?!!!! wasnt wow enough on though and quite short at the back plus you would be pulling at it all day to get to sit rught.

also v close re philosophy alberta ferretti as one of other dresses was that label! thought that one was a bit bitty iykwim.

sorry just read your post about satin!! Usually these frocks are thicker satin and hide lumps n bumps a bit better!

cornsilk - that is my prob too - it was amazing blue with flowers front and back - got from my wardrobe but wrong size. net a porter had diff blue one with one shoulder but shoulder bit too long and flopped down and also a bit of staic.
really want the blue one with flowers but alas not in stock anywhere in 42 (had 44 and too big)
