My kids aren't at school yet, but I think I need a school run dress.

I wore a dress today and was reminded how much i love wearing dresses.

So if you don't mind, can you link me to some nice dresses for this spring and summer that would make a good 'not-quite-school-run-dress'.

Ta.

Titsalina - I like the ruffle one.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 15:57

Titsalina, something with more structure and shape, to nip in waist rather than hang off boobies. Hmmm, let me have a rummage

Mooseheart · 13/04/2009 15:59

Scorpio, I too am 5'9 and a size 8 and funnily enough I tried on that first TopShop dress at the weekend... I have to say though it wasn't massively flattering, made me look a bit of a foof. Not many dresses do that!

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 15:59

i LOVE this but not for school, ahem

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 16:00

ikwym - i often look sacky in things like that. Nearest topshop is 40+ miles away so have to internet order.

Tillyscoutsmum · 13/04/2009 16:01

You need to be pg dragon - I've found some great maternity ones

how about this ?

or this

this

this

TitsalinaBumsquash · 13/04/2009 16:02

I really like

This

But possiby not good for my shape? Im so rubbish at dressing myself i either look ,like a fat tart or a sloppy frump.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 16:06

yes tits, wrap shap check, knee length, check.

Viscose is a bit sweaty, but you are on the right lines

Who was asking about the Joules dress? This is similar but a better fit for me. DPs and the pattern is better in RL

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 16:07

wrap shape I mean

TrillianEAstraEgg · 13/04/2009 16:10

Wrap shap?
Love shack?
Mean machine?

nevergoogledragonbutter · 13/04/2009 16:21

i do not need to be pregnant!

why is everything in topshop etc that unflattering length? i do not wish to show my knees. for everyone elses sake.

OP posts:
TrillianEAstraEgg · 13/04/2009 16:23

Um, because Topshop is aimed at people under the age of 20?

Or just because what's unflattering for some people is flattering for others? I have chunky claves so my skirts need to be either above the knee or properly long - anything that stops anywhere between my knee and my ankle looks rubbish.

mrsmaidamess · 13/04/2009 16:24

Above the knee...that's where cropped leggings come in. With high wedges.

ComeOVeneer · 13/04/2009 16:45

I've ordered this to add to my ever expanding collection of SRD {blush]

TrillianEAstraEgg · 13/04/2009 16:56

That's pretty COV - I think I would prefer it without the ribbon though.

janeite · 13/04/2009 17:13

Those M&C ones are really pretty. Has anybody seen them irl? Like the dp one too.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 17:18

gah CoV has unearthed my non-srd

It's v pretty, lovely cut and the fabric is nice and soft.

The M and Co stuff, you really have to touch and feel, need to pick through the stuff, as some of it is and some of it is

ComeOVeneer · 13/04/2009 22:52

Oops BALD sorry. Haven't got it yet. Is it not suitable for the school run? I have the perfect pair of shoes to wear with it (turquoise ballet pumps with a green flower on the front - bought them in CHicago 4 years ago and never had anything quite right to wear them with)
