My kids aren't at school yet, but I think I need a school run dress.

I wore a dress today and was reminded how much i love wearing dresses.

So if you don't mind, can you link me to some nice dresses for this spring and summer that would make a good 'not-quite-school-run-dress'.

Ta.

with crop cardi for erm arms

Cotton and not try-too-hard, see ?

Flat pumps and I'm sorted.

Not £££ either

cherryblossoms · 13/04/2009 12:03

That's lovely. I like the colours too.

I'm really cross. I went out to buy a SRD last week. Every time I try to do this, I get side-tracked and buy an "Unrealistic Expectations" dress instead. I do not know why I do this.

So, I stood in front of the mirror, did a sort of self-hypnotism thing, then wrote out a list of key features for dress (not fussy, no ironing, etc.).

And then, again, it all went wrong when I hit the shops and I now have in my wardrobe yet another dress that is incompatible with my day-to-day life.

I want to slap myself.

and a great price.

i'm with you on the cardi for the arms too.

BALD - I was interested in what you said about your Joules dress.

I went into a shop the other day and tried on some of their dresses (I was v. interested in the Barogue one (I'm overly addicted to bright pattern ).

Anyway, their dressed seem to be quite an odd shape - cut for women with no norks and slightly larger waists.

So I'm wondering if that dress is marshmallowy because of the no-norks ideal woman they seem to have in mind?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 15:48

I agree all their dresses (Joules) are more for their presumably target market of twenty somthing willowy types, no nork allowance and far too long. Shame because the shapes and patterns are v appealing.

TrillianEAstraEgg · 13/04/2009 15:48

Any more dresses for not-the-school-run?

MN is great - you can recommend dresses to poeple without fear that they will 'steal' your dress and turn up wearing the same dress as you and look better in it.

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 15:49

i got one from marks, was shit, sent back.
have ordered one from.....wallis(gasp)
am awaiting

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 15:50

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 15:51

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 15:51

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 15:54

Not with her terrible shoes.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 13/04/2009 15:54

What about..

this

or

this

or

this

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 15:54

No

The zip is horrid and will scratch your baby's face when you cuddle

TitsalinaBumsquash · 13/04/2009 15:55

Ok so what does a lady with extreme norks size 14-16 wear, good legs but very short?

No designated booby sections becuase mine always overflow.

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 15:55

that belt makes me feel hot.

I got a fabbola dress in DP for £25 black wrap thing. looks deevine

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 15:55

oh i liked it

TrillianEAstraEgg · 13/04/2009 15:55

Scorpio I am imagining you as Marisa from the OC now - so could definitely wear either those dresses. I would prefer the second one if it wasn't for the zip at the front, which I think ruins it.

BALD how could we steal your dress? It's so unlikely that you'll run into any of us in RL. Maybe if every MNer loved it so much that we all went out and bought one... We could have a uniform!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/04/2009 15:56

But they are soooo comfy

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 15:56

Titsalina - i like the first one but i wouldnt wear it in the day

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 15:56
