maxi dress

personally, i think a nice loose, flowing, long dress or skirt is lovely to wear in the summer - cool and breezy without the need to have immaculately groomed pins every day (unlikely for me). and neednt look at all mumsy and pregnancy tent-like.

anyone agree?? WHERE on erath do i look for such items? this is the only one ive found that looks ok so far, and its in aus.
do primark and H&M have anything like it in atm (ie, is it worth a shlep into town to have a look?)

many thanks,

EldonAve · 30/03/2009 15:02

VinegarTitsTheVirginNun · 30/03/2009 15:09

Monsoon had maxi stuff in the sale last week

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/03/2009 15:13

Urban Outfitters or Skate shops that also sell clothes.

I think it's a little early for there to be lots of summery dresses around, best waiting until after the Easter sales when summer stock comes in.

Ratface · 30/03/2009 16:41

oh, too early you think? i totally assumed i was at least a year or so too late as by the time i like a thing its usually not in fashion any more

looking at other links now... thanks peeps

I bought a couple of nice maxis from Debenhams the year before last
Red Herring I think

not bad

very nice indeed if you can do strapless

Doodle2U · 30/03/2009 20:01

Margo dress more like!

LetThemEatCake · 30/03/2009 20:17

I love Margot!!

you mean good life, right??

Doodle2U · 30/03/2009 20:19

Pants - I spelt it wrong!

Cake, we gotta stop hanging around on these Style threads! Folk will think we're not taking them seriously!

ABetaDad · 30/03/2009 20:22

I like it. Women should wear more dresses.

JudithChalmers · 30/03/2009 20:23

God the OP dress is vile

LetThemEatCake · 30/03/2009 20:58

Oh god, I love the style threads. At night, when the kids are in bed and I'm supposed to be working, I flick between whatever word doc I have open and MN Style & Beauty.

I am nothing if not superficial. What's your excuse?!!

Doodle2U · 30/03/2009 21:56

I come into this topic to reassure myself, Cake! I live in awe of some of the fashion crimes committed by seemingly well-educated women of my generation.

I, of course, am a style icon. Decathlon is my label of choice at the moment

Pannacotta · 30/03/2009 22:07

This dress is totally gorgeous I think...

boogiewoogie · 30/03/2009 22:36

They used to have loads last year

here.

Zara have some, as do Mango.

Imagine that if you wait until end of April, more shops will have them in, 'tis a bit early just yet.
