maxi dress

personally, i think a nice loose, flowing, long dress or skirt is lovely to wear in the summer - cool and breezy without the need to have immaculately groomed pins every day (unlikely for me). and neednt look at all mumsy and pregnancy tent-like.

anyone agree?? WHERE on erath do i look for such items? this is the only one ive found that looks ok so far, and its in aus.
do primark and H&M have anything like it in atm (ie, is it worth a shlep into town to have a look?)

many thanks,

You aren't too late at all for maxi dresses, true that they were very fashionable last summer but they're still around this year. H&M have a couple just now and the Matthew Williamson for H&M range which comes out later this month has a lovely one. Zara are always great for dresses of all lengths so worth a look.

I reckon maxi dresses are a bit like leggings/tunics/skinny jeans etc. When they were at the height of fashion you didn't actually see anyone actually wearing them outside of magazines but after a year or so you can't imagine life without them. A lot of people I know bought maxi dresses last summer but never wore them in this country (combination of weather and not feeling confident enough to wear them), I think if we get the weather this year we'll see them on lots more people.

Primark have some, I was in there today - they had a couple of different styles, quite nice & I would have bought one, however only size 8's left.....sadly I would have to sew 2 that size together to fit my girth

I love some of them, and would love to wear them, but I am a bit worried by the fact I am only 5ft 2, and largish of nork. (32e/f).

I have lost 20lb sonce last summer, and for the first time I am not pregnant or very fat and don't want to hide in trousers and baggy tshirts.

So can a vertically challeneged person get away with wering Maxi dresses?
