Be honest - do I look like I've had a run in with a sofa and lost?

I'm trying to break out from my usual black/brown/grey wardrobe so have bought this shift dress in a blue/white print.

Am now scared that it's taking the print idea a bit too far.

Please ignore the bingo wings as I'll be wearing it with a cardigan, but am also concerened it's too figure hugging (have just lost 2 stone and not used to wearing clothes that actually touch my body).

Be honest but kind please!

I don't think it is to figure huging and looks good. The print is very complimentry against your rather tanned bod from lilly white knickers here!

8oreighty · 26/03/2009 12:37

I like it! you look very slim and funky...

flowerybeanbag · 26/03/2009 12:37

I'm not overkeen on the print myself, but that's because I am a boring stick-to-plain-colours person. It looks like it fits you well though.

ruddynorah · 26/03/2009 12:39

i like it. you look good. plain cardi though yes?

suwoo · 26/03/2009 12:39

I don't like it personally, but it does look nice with your skin tone and you look lovely and slim with not a sniff of bingo wings in sight.

Lizzylou · 26/03/2009 12:41

I like it, suits your figure and colouring very well.
You have a lovely figure, no bingo wings at all!

Penthesileia · 26/03/2009 12:41

I think the print is quite cool. The dress fits you well (what bingo wings?). Nice legs too!

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 12:43

Ah thank you for not being mean

flowerybeanbag - I'm a boring plain colours person too but am determined to break out! I picked this up because I liked the shape of it and hadn't seen that they also do it in plain colours.

Thanks for the compliments - still a stone to go [sob] - why is size 16 so hard to get down from?

You do not look like a size 16 at all, you look like a 12 tbh

Penthesileia · 26/03/2009 12:44

16?! You do not look a 16. Honestly!

Well done on your weight loss. You look terrific.

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 12:45

Oops lots of cross posts. People seem divided on the acceptability of the print! They also do the dress in plain colours (it's 25 pounds from H&M by the way, and really good quality cotton).

Yes ruddynorah - I have a white cardi and a blue one that matches - both should do OK I think.

I think you look great

Very of your curves too, you have a lovely figure.

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 12:53

(pretending not to enjoy compliments)

I'm lucky in that I'm 5'10 so carry weight well - I'm still the top end of 12 stone something.

I think I'll hang onto the dress and try not to be too embarrassed to wear it!

OP posts:
claireybee · 26/03/2009 12:55

And where did you get that tan?

GossipMonger · 26/03/2009 12:55

you look lovely but must wear it with confidence knowing that you look nice! navy cardi and shoes will look great with it!

Lizzylou · 26/03/2009 12:58

Well, I am a size 16, 5ft 9" and weight a bit less than you, that dress would look awful on me. Truly.
You look neat and toned and shapely, I would look like a lumpy, wobbly sack of spuds. My arms are like shotputters too, sigh.

Keep the dress, you look fab

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2009 12:59

No way do you look a size 16!

I think the dress is very flattering

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 13:01

claireybee the tan I was lucky enough to be born with - genetics are a great thing!

I was hoping you were going to tell me about some miracle product

I look even more pasty these days due to the contrast with dh and the kids

mollyroger · 26/03/2009 13:07

you look very shapely and lovely and I love the dress. And your arms are fine, IMHO

MrsMcCluskey · 26/03/2009 13:08

You look lovely in it, you have a great figure look really toned, where are the bingo wings?

FlorenceAndtheWashingMachine · 26/03/2009 13:56

I like it on you. I was expecting a huge 'old lady style' print, but that's a cool one. Nice colours too.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 26/03/2009 14:00

It's lovely, really suits you

electra · 26/03/2009 14:04

You don't have bingo wings! Imo you look very nice and very slim
