Be honest - do I look like I've had a run in with a sofa and lost?

I'm trying to break out from my usual black/brown/grey wardrobe so have bought this shift dress in a blue/white print.

Am now scared that it's taking the print idea a bit too far.

Please ignore the bingo wings as I'll be wearing it with a cardigan, but am also concerened it's too figure hugging (have just lost 2 stone and not used to wearing clothes that actually touch my body).

Be honest but kind please!

Hi Norky! You look great! Well done on the weight loss. How did you do it? I would love to be a 16!!!!

Dress looks great. Lovely and fresh and summery.

DrNortherner · 26/03/2009 14:07

It suits you and fits perfectly. The style is perfect and the print is really nice.

You look great. No cardi needed!

Habbibu · 26/03/2009 14:07

You're a fox, missus. And scrub the cardi - your arms are just fine.

BarStoolCobra · 26/03/2009 14:09

i love it!

BarStoolCobra · 26/03/2009 14:10

Is it new?
Wheres it from?

Blu · 26/03/2009 14:14

Looks great, fantastci shape (the dress - and you!) - I would actually avoid a cardi because it might make it a bit frumpy - depending on the cardi, of course.

I would wear it with a chunky plain perspex or plastic bangle, not fussy jewellry.

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 14:33

Yes bought it yesterday - H&M in Bluewater for the grand total of 25 pounds.

They also had it in yellow and pale gold that I saw, but I only looked in one corner of the shop as I was in a rush, so wouldn't be suprised if they had it in every colour of the rainbow.

It's got a belt that you can't see very well in the picture...it's really good quality for the price - holds you in in all the right places.

Thanks Buda - I actually started taking some medication just after the Xmas meetup which contributed to losing weight - that combined with me stopping drinking due to being ill.

Thanks again for the nice comments!

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 16:15

lou33 · 26/03/2009 16:17

it suits you

Jux · 26/03/2009 16:22

I think you look great. And no bingo wings either.

mileniwmffalcon · 26/03/2009 16:27

personally i'd take it up a bit, say an inch or so above the knee, but otherwise lovely. i'm assuming op is an h&m 16 - i'm still a 14 in there despite finding out today i'm an 8 in matalan

LooptheLoop · 26/03/2009 16:31

Another love it vote here - you look great.

bleh · 26/03/2009 16:44

Great dress, great figure. You look very lovely

H&M you say?

JudithChalmers · 26/03/2009 16:44

AH now I saw something similar in H and M in a bright blue.
Is it cotton?

JudithChalmers · 26/03/2009 16:45

AND i think I agree re length

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 17:07

It's not as long as it looks in that picture - it's just below the knee (but bearing in mind I'm 5'10, it would be quite long on anyone much shorter). My thighs could still do with some toning so I probably won't shorten it at the moment!

I'll check the label for material in a minute, but it certainly felt a good quality fabric.

Is H&M different sizing to elsewhere then?

solowitch · 26/03/2009 17:10

It looks great and so do you...

JudithChalmers · 26/03/2009 17:29

You look great, step away from the cardi - not needed.

NorkyButNice · 26/03/2009 18:17

Am I allowed a cardi because it's England and therefore cold even in spring/summer?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 18:31

no. No cardigans,

defy the english weather!! Style is impervious to temperature
