i put just a few drops of foundation in my day moisturiser - gives a sheer tint & glow. A, also a newbie to makeup, just started last year at age 35, so wouldn't have felt comfortable with heavy cover. This looks natural and glowy and is no diff to putting on moisturiser, which I would have done anyway

giddykipper · 22/03/2009 19:30

Chanel Vitalumiere, nice and dewy, I slap it on like moisuriser. Not cheap though.

Fionafly · 22/03/2009 19:33

i use clinique and apply it with a brush. i don't spend much time on make up and it stays put all day

Flamesparrow · 22/03/2009 19:34

I'm using Loreal True Match (I have no idea if Loreal are nestle or summat ) - goes on nicely, not too heavy.

I like the mineral foundation. It's really quick to apply. I've got Revlon at the moment but preferred Loreal.

beforesunrise · 22/03/2009 19:44

having recently converted to using a foundation brush, i can safely say, it takes one extra minute, but it's so incredibly worth it, a whole different result.

mrsravi · 22/03/2009 19:48

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, last ages (6-9months), covers enough zits and looks lovely. Oh, and you can really slap it on too.

mumof2andabit · 22/03/2009 19:48

Have been looking at mineral foundations online, although I suspect I need to go in store somewhere to make sure the shade is right.

Does a brush really make that much difference? Quite fancy a brush....more glamourous somehow lol

Brush makes a lot of difference! One of the best buys I made.

I also use Chanel Vitalumiere

mrsravi · 22/03/2009 19:56

I got a mineral foundtaiona and forked out for the brush and was glad I did. Made it all look much more professional. Great for work but I do like prefer the texture of a liquid foundation over a mineral I think...

mumof2andabit · 22/03/2009 19:57

Googled it to find it was about £45ish is the right price or did I google the wrong thing?

Clinique barely make-up for a gentle cover on a daily basis.

mrsravi · 22/03/2009 19:59

the brush or the mineral powder?

Ah Thank you, I was a bit slow with my other post about googling it was the chanel one that I thought was around the £45 mark. Am begining to be persuaded by all these good comments about mineral make up......

Slight hijack - those of you who use a brush: any recs?

mrsravi · 22/03/2009 20:21

I got a Laura Mercier one, a 'blending brush' though can't remember how much it was but it is very good, even with my impatient rather cack-handed use of it..

VinoEsmeralda · 22/03/2009 20:22

I have got a Dior foundation brush and it is good but havent had any other ones so cant really compare

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 22/03/2009 20:25

chanel

janeite · 22/03/2009 20:27

Are the brushes hideously expensive? I normally buy Number 7 brushes for eyeshadow but I don't think they do a foundation one.

mrsravi · 22/03/2009 20:28

ah, sorry I was talking about a mineral brush..I got a foundation brush from Clinique, about £15ish? Makes a real difference.

rozzyraspberry · 22/03/2009 20:30

I've just started using lilylolo mineral make up which I really like. They sell tester pots online for only £1 each so you could try a few colours of the foundation - the finishing powder is good too. Full size versions are only £12 so not too bad and I think they'll last ages.

Delivery v quick (I ordered on a Weds evening and order arrived Fri am).
