nice hair and accessories

MrsMcCluskey · 27/02/2009 22:08

scarves for me
Hair should always be tidy!
I also like beads.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 27/02/2009 22:09

Accessories

People who go out in jeans and a top rarely look pulled together unless they're naturally stunning - think Cindy Crawford in a plain white t-shirt and jeans

Jewellery, scarf, swooshy hair go a looooooooooooooooong way...

used2bthin · 27/02/2009 22:09

I think its accesories a lot of the time, a chunky bracelet or beads that go well with the outfit, or a scarf or something. I am rubbish at it so always look thrown together!

daftpunk · 27/02/2009 22:10

what does "pulled together" mean?

Penthesileia · 27/02/2009 22:11

Confidence in what they're wearing.

I see people wearing the most outlandish or unusual outfits; but they pull it off, look "pulled together" because they wear it well.

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/02/2009 22:11

Daft punk - you know, stylish, on trend...

So...acessories...sunglasses on head type of thing or is that too sloane ranger??

When everything is ironed and good quality plus a cool accessory thrown in.

I almost never look like this BTW. Am visiting my mum at the moment and had to explain to my 2.5 yo that irons are hot.

Cadelaide · 27/02/2009 22:14

Hair, definitely hair.

Crap hair ruins everything.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 27/02/2009 22:14

I also think it takes quite a bit of effort to not look as if you rolled out of a barn scraping the cat sick off you

at least it does in my house

and wtf is it with pet hairs?

daftpunk · 27/02/2009 22:14

lol...well i'm a confirmed "scruff" as you can see from my picture

BoysAreLikeDogs · 27/02/2009 22:14

Eyebrows

Cadelaide · 27/02/2009 22:15

Ironing not necessary, btw.

Clothes don't have to be flat.

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/02/2009 22:16

I see mums at my groups looking so effortlessly stylish and I sit there trying to work out exactly what it is that makes them so...then I ponder whether its an ability that you just have...otherwise, you need a stylish in manner of J-Lo or similar...

daftpunk · 27/02/2009 22:17

deffo nice hair..very important

random · 27/02/2009 22:17

matching pyjamas and slippers for the school run

Marthasmama · 27/02/2009 22:18

Me too daftpunk. You could put me in a Dior gown and I'd still look like a tramp. My mum and I are in awe of those immaculately groomed older ladies you see at places like Bluewater. We laugh at the idea of either of us ever achieving that!

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/02/2009 22:19

pmsl at random! Would we need a handbag for that or a Greggs paper bag??

OP posts:
daftpunk · 27/02/2009 22:19

lol...i just don't do "well groomed"

Cadelaide · 27/02/2009 22:19

And confidence.

Shoulders back, chin up, all that stuff.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 27/02/2009 22:20

I wore this devore coat today, all swooshy velvet, bright colours, beaded mid-calf length - looked like some uber-expensive thing out of Liberty

wore it with dark jeans and a plain top, beaded jewellery, swooshy hair (natch)

fairly sure I looked a bit of a twat

it's harder to carry off statement looks when you're a bit fat (like me)

random · 27/02/2009 22:21

I find a Primark carrier bag completes the look

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/02/2009 22:23

So, do you think you have to be thin to carry off swooshy looks??

OP posts:
daftpunk · 27/02/2009 22:24

yes
