I normally use herbal essences, but its all changing now and I dont like the look of the new stuff, so need to change.

Dont want to spend a fortune
Dont like Treseme
Need a shampoo and conditioner
I have fine blonde hair, not coloured, straight and shoulder length

TIA

I use Loreal Elvive nutrileum. It's fairly cheap and does wonders for my hair.

Agree about herbal ssances. It looks like it's marketed for teens now.

MaplePecanPlait · 12/02/2009 18:34

I use Head and Shoulders because all other brands seem to make me itch too much. Not sure this is the sort of advice you need?

A hairdresser advised me to use fairy liquid every now and again to clean out all the products (only shampoo and occasional conditioner). Hair was so silky and lush afterwards and colleagues commented how good it was. She said she wasn't going to bother with her Tigi products any more!!

i use naked as it doesn't contain and sulfar lauryl sulfate which is an industrial chemical used to clean factory oils which is in most high street brands.

KingRolo · 12/02/2009 18:48

Your hair sounds exactly like mine but I'm brunette not blonde. I tried Naked but wasn't impressed, it seemed to leave my hair quite limp and greasy but sure it would be good for others.

I like John Frieda brunette shampoo and conditioner - about £5 each but last ages. Have heard good things about the blonde version too.

Aussie products are fab and contain lots of natural goodies

PuzzleRocks · 12/02/2009 19:26

I use Aussie too. The Mega (kanagaroo paw flower) shampoo and conditioner ones smell bloody gorgeous.

PuzzleRocks · 12/02/2009 19:27

kangaroo

Oumasrusks · 12/02/2009 20:30

I'm another Aussie fan. I've just changed from Andrew Collinge and am loving the Aussie miracle conditioner.

duckyfuzz · 12/02/2009 20:32

kingrolo I use the john frieda brunette stuff too, really good and worth the money imo

sagacious · 12/02/2009 20:32

I use Aussie (the one for coloured hair) smells of peaches

Utekram rose or chamomile shampoo - very mild/natural and no SLS
Paul Mitchell Detangle conditioner, great for taming teh frizz.
Neither one tested on animals either, which matters to me.

AuntieMaggie · 12/02/2009 20:39

I use tresemme at the mo which I know you said you don't like, but used to use dove which used to make my hair so soft....

I love the smell of herbal essences but it never did much for my hair.

BTW be careful with the fairy liquid - I was once recommended to used it by a hairdresser to tone down the colour that had gone wrong on my hair.

MrsWilburton · 12/02/2009 20:39

i change all the time
am currently on that brilliant brunette stuff
I apsire to aveda

i think tis all a con tbh

MrsWilburton · 12/02/2009 20:40

or kerestase
utterly fab

brimfull · 12/02/2009 20:43

I think all these shampoos and conditioners for every different type of hair is ludicrous
smooth
curly
wavy
brown
blonde
straight
short
long
for something that washes in and out in about 30 seconds!

JackieNo · 12/02/2009 20:43

I like the Natural Locks stuff they sell in Waitrose. It's a kind of 'diffusion range' - original range (sacred locks, I think) is £££ and sold at Space NK. Ah, just remembered - they're for coloured hair, and I'm not sure yours is, though.

Timeisablindguide · 12/02/2009 20:44

Nicky clarke for blond hair is good - brings out natural highlights. Mind you, I'm a fan of the herbal essences one which you've gone off lately!

PlumBumMum · 12/02/2009 20:47

Tesco were doing sunsilk shampoo s bogof
I thought they were good, agree about herbal essence

wobbegong · 12/02/2009 20:52

My hair sounds just like yours and I just buy whatever is bogof, and honestly I can never tell the difference beyond the smell.

If I could afford it I would use Aveda though.

fishie · 12/02/2009 20:53

waitrose deep conditioner
planning to get aveda shampoo when this aussie has run out, their styling products are cheaper than drugstore stuff.

duckyfuzz · 12/02/2009 20:57

the stuff for coloured hair is really good though - in those tests done for some prog a couple of years ago, when protect and perfect came out so well, the only other product to come out with any credibility was shampoo/conditioner for coloured hair - when my hairdresser comments on how well my highlights last - I thank John Frieda very much

Shhhh · 12/02/2009 21:23

I use alfaparf which is from my salon BUT according to my hairdresser the BEST one from the supermarket is AUSSIE....

I have used it and still do now and must admit its lush Esp the 3 min miracle conditioner...
