Ye gads. I thought it was something fabaroony.

I have seen it in rl in brown.

MamaG · 09/02/2009 14:27

Hmmm not keen. I don't need ANY extra padding!!

NAB09 · 09/02/2009 14:33

It looked nice on and was the only coat out of 7 shops with a hood.

Aww don't be sad. It is the ultimate dream on MN to find the perfect coat with hood. It hasn't been done yet.

NAB09 · 09/02/2009 14:38

I would have bought it if it had been my size and I still might. I also don't need anymore padding and I didn't think it added any tbh and I had a thick jumper on underneath.

I would go for this in black personally.

mileniwmffalcon · 09/02/2009 14:48

i love my new coat sooooo much. it's proper breathable i can go for a run (well, run/walk/run/walk) in it without overheating, it's proper waterproof (wasn't quite sure from the description) and it has a proper hood with a peak and you can adjust the size so i can run without it falling down and can see where i'm going when i cross the road. it's cut for boobs though, and it makes me look like i have some when i don't, not such a bad thing either

lilQuidditchKel · 09/02/2009 18:54

OOh this is a true challenge.

I like the Lands End one Fimbo as it's got a bit of substance to it and it has a waist instead of being a giant square - but it's not quite long enough...

(same issoo with Howies one Mileniwmffalcon, not long enough...)

sigh. will it ever be found?

lilQuidditchKel · 09/02/2009 18:57

this looks so fab on but I need to win lottery first....

Pollyanna · 09/02/2009 19:00

the pedlars one pedlars is nice I think

mrsmaidamess · 09/02/2009 19:01

Per Una one is too short IMO. One would get wet jeans in the rain.

bodiddly · 09/02/2009 19:13

nab09 my dp bought that coat for me for christmas!

mileniwmffalcon · 09/02/2009 19:25

i have a big long one too but it's too long for running or to comfortably wear with my ergo. was wearing my new coat around and about today cos i will not be parted from it and was surprised at how unwet my legs were but it was steady light rain rather than downpour.

there was a north face one called grace that i wanted but nowhere had it in stock.

mileniwmffalcon · 09/02/2009 19:27

btw i wasn't suggesting the howies one as any kind of answer to the eternal mn waterproof coat dilemma, just looking for any opportunity to talk coats cos i love it so very much

Pannacotta · 09/02/2009 22:35

Rain coats need to be long, who wants a damp bum after all?!

Pannacotta · 09/02/2009 22:36

North Face one is good plus Burberry too, shame they are either not available or not affordable!

madlentileater · 09/02/2009 22:39

I agree with Pannacotta, that's not a coat it's a jacket, what kind of rain do you get round your way?

captainpig · 09/02/2009 23:07

I have this tis fab

fruitcorner · 10/02/2009 13:33

mileniwmffalcon - is your Howies coat definitely waterproof? How waterproof! I looked at that coat on the website but was put off b/c it said waterresistant but if it's more than just resistant I will be tempted...

lilQuidditchKel · 10/02/2009 14:36

Captainpig, I am in love. And it's in pink too....ahhhh.....for how much longer do you think we'd wear it?

captainpig · 10/02/2009 15:59

lilQuidditchKel I think it is a coat that I will wear Spring, Autumn & Winter. I always feel just the right temperature in it, I've never been too hot nor too cold. It is fab in that it is windproof, water-resistant and rip-proof, and it has been tested in all these situations and passed! It is a great length and is the best coat I've ever bought.

Flightattendant12 · 10/02/2009 16:03

I'm currently enjoying my liberty mackintosh

It is hoodless but has got taped seams. Men looked at me today

Flightattendant12 · 10/02/2009 16:04

I want Captain pig's one though now
