fruitcorner i wore it in the rain for half an hour yesterday and it was all beading up fine, didn't soak into the fabric at all. i think they say elsewhere on their site that it's not designed for hours of solid rain, but certainly fine for short trips, showers etc. what appealed to me is that it can be washed without affecting the waterproofing, so it's good for doing sweaty things (have found it v comfortably breathable).

it's crotch length on me (5'6") so no wet bum, i'm a 12 and the 14 fits me just right on the hips, bit generous around the bust (i have none!).

This is mine, well it's the nearest I can find, mine is single breasted and tomato red

with liberty lining.
They're about £500 odd but mine was on ebay for £50.

Captainpig, I want one! In that unreasonable way that only a woman with too many coats already can want one...you know, it's just that I don't have one that is warm, and waterproof, and long enough, and stylish, and.....pink.

Or is white better? I have a white down-filled parka which is not waterproof nor hooded and it does suit me as I'm blonde, but pink just looks so cool...

Help....

Flightattendant12 · 10/02/2009 16:10

Oh darn, click on collections, the red check one is most like it.
No hood though.

lilQuidditchKel · 10/02/2009 16:12

Macintosh is nice stuff, but there are no hoods...

lilQuidditchKel · 10/02/2009 16:13

Flightattendant12 · 10/02/2009 16:59

I have the fab Landsend Stadium Squall in Red (a colour they don't seem to have now), I have to say I love wearing a bright colour on these dull dreary days, and certainly can easily be seen by traffic!

I have one of the new(ish) Barbours, and a waterproof hat.
I'm very pleased with them The coat is well designed so although it isn't very long the cut means it doesn't soak your jeans.

Just found this coat and thought I'd link to it, looks pretty good IMO
